Is it not "The battle's on and your soul is the prize"? I think Noel will win no matter what, but I will support Beady Eye all the way!

I've got a feeling that Noel will definitely have a few classics that will piss all over on BDI stuff. But after MG Noel was extremely inconsistent, so they would become useless if the other songs are as bad as PYMWYMI. If the album's generally good, then it's his victory.

True but I really think Noel lost a bit of his edge. Will he use Beady Eye as a motivation for his new material? maybe.. but we also don't know if he's gonna write new stuff cause hasn't he a house full of brilliant songs he keeps mentioning time and time again? Supposed classics that he threw the whole kitchen sink into..
So honestly Noel is and always will be a great songwriter YES but unless he lays out a gameplan on how his new material will sound like, I think we will get a mixture of a few rockers..a few acoustic classics and a bunch of electronic based ala Let Forever Be and Falling Down.

Why do you think that? Before DBTT he'd never done a tune like TIOBI and before DOYS he'd never done anything like FD on an Oasis album. He said that he'd rediscovered his love of writing music over the past 2 albums and I believe that judging by his output. I think Noel will have some newish songs on the album because he said he was hitting a fertile patch during DOYS. Everyone in the band said so. He was demoing when they did the interviews for GS+S which would have been after DOYS was finished. Why are people being so negative about a project that we have heard nothing about other than vague refer eke to the fact that it is being recorded in bits. Particularly when Noel's output, especially on the past 2 albums but even throughout Oasis entire career, was relatively strong. People doubted that Liam could do it because of songwriting. The only thing that Noel lacks access to now that he had in Oasis is an outstanding vocalist...but for some reason people are starting to doubt his ability to deliver a well-written interesting song. Where is this coming from? Doubt his voice if you like, although I don't agree with that, but his ability to write a good tune? It just doesn't make any sense to me. We all loved Noel primarily as a songwriter. That is his forte. Why are we doubting that part of his album of all things? If anything I'd be more concerned that he isn't utilizing a great producer since he has already begun recording and there hasn't been any concrete news on any well-established producers being connected with him.

You could add the soundcheck songs that he wrote, if he works them out he has a good part of his solo record done. You could say Part of the queqe while saying new styles of noel sung songs. Maybe the people does not recognizes DOYS as the album that i see just because they didnt put b-sides of quality(if we dont consider the bonus cd as bsides), but is a hell of a work if you see that their albums were predictable(only SOTSOG was a shock but in the bad way for the most of the people).

I'm not doubting him at all. If my last reply implied that then I honestly didn't mean for it come out that way. Yes he's rediscovered his love for writing songs again in the past 2 albums but he's also venturing into experimental sounds. Beady Eye played it safe somehow by writing music they love and we love since majority of us Oasis fans are also pre 70's music fans ( Beatles, The Who, Stones etc..)
I just sorta think that Noel may ( may ) move more into the sound that he wants to venture into which may be the opposite of what I think he'll do.. I would like to hear more Oasis'ish Noelly stuff and a finished "record machine" and a finished non self produced "stop the clocks"..
So in essence nope I'm not doubting him. I'm wishing he would release his stuff as the Beady Eye tour concludes so us fans can have a tandem of BE and then Noels solo then some more BE and then an Oasis reunion ( haha hope floats )

"your SOUL is the prize". At least get the lyrics right before analyzing shit. If anything, its influenced by his (A. Bells) divorce.

Every song in the album is about Noel. For anyone included

I can bet right now that Noel will be working with the Amorphous Androgynous in his album.

But after MG Noel was extremely inconsistent, so they would become useless if the other songs are as bad as PYMWYMI. If the album's generally good, then it's his victory. I think Oasis were inconsistent, I don't think Noel has been that inconsistent over say, the last 2 albums. Of the 6 songs he gave on DOYS, only 1 was a poor effort and of the 5 tracks he did on DBTT, he didnt make a bad song. I love Mucky Fingers (I dont mind the vocal), TIOBI, LTBL, and I really like Part of The Queue. I love Lyla, even though that's not a popular opinion on this forum. Other than HHL, I can't say that he has made a bad track over the last couple of albums. Now if we expand to SOTSOG and HC, then I would def say that his songwriting was inconsistent. But in terms of the last 2 albums, Noel has consistently gotten better, and his songwriting is becoming stronger and stronger. Would not surprise me if we see/hear an album with 11 tracks, 3 being amazing, 5 being really good, and 3 being either good or okay. That's really what I'm expecting from this album. And I also thing that Noel will do what he said that he would stop doing...I think there will be 1 old school stadium anthem. I would almost bank on that.
