Not sure if this has been brought up, but is there a point on the album where ya think what if noel was there.
The only part on the cd i think what if noel was in the band is on the three ring circus backing vocals. i could imagine noel singing the 3ring while liam sings going round. sort of like how they rotate in slide away

not really, it's actually quite refreshing to get the first album since definitely maybe with Liam front to back & with him sounding so youthful & energetic it really doesn't make me wander for a noel acoustic or anything.

Agree. So good to hear Liam going at the vox alone without Noel keeping a couple of the tunes for himself to sing. Liam was and will always be the better of the two vocalists.

yes... well, because you see, i am an Oasis fan. i didn't like having Noel sing 4 songs on the last couple of albums but i did find myself wishing there was at least 1(possibly 2) Noel sung songs. whatever... that's not to say that the album would've been better or worse but i do know that if this would've included Noel and his songwriting, it could've been a masterpiece. Then again, since he's the "chief" he proly would've been like "No Andy, no... Kill for a Dream is not good enough to make it on this album, don't you have something like The Nature of Reality?" lol you guys get what im saying.

You must be confused. Noel is easily by far the better vocalist. Liam's vocals has been so so on Albums and tours since SOTSOG

I miss his voice on most of the backing vocals since I really love how Liam and Noel's voices mesh. But some of that might be familiarity...Liam has never had anyone else do backing vocals for me. Maybe eventually I'll get familiar enough with Andy and Gem voices that they sound right to my ears and it won't matter.
I kind of miss his songwriting but since we are going to be getting am album of Noel tune sometime in the next year it's more that This album makes me more eager for that...but nothing on the album specifically makes that the case. Just a vague sense of wanted something more...
I don't miss his lead vocals because Noel never lead sang a Non-Noel tune...hence no Noel tune=no Noel voice.

I miss his songwriting maturity a bit, though Andy is quite mature in that area too.

I dont miss Noel on this album, if Oasis were still around we'll probably have to wait till the year 2015 for the next album.
Its been great the last few months with the hype/news coming through and now finally the album. Cant wait to see them perform at Abbey Road on the 28th and then of course seeing them at a gig shortly afterwards.

No, I hadn't even thought about it. I love the fact it's a full Liam sung album again The only part on the cd i think what if noel was in the band is on the three ring circus backing vocals. i could imagine noel singing the 3ring while liam sings going round. sort of like how they rotate in slide away But I think you're right about this. Noels backing vocals would make this song better!

I think the album is really good but if it would be an Oasis album I would truely miss the Noel sung tunes which where always the high-points of every album for me, I love his voice so much =) But it's not an Oasis album and it's ok for me, I will have a lot of Noel-sung songs on his solo album

I love the sense of freedom on this album. I love the diversity on this album. Noel will have his solo album. It will exceed expectations just the way DGSS did. And then Liam and Noel splitting will be inversely productive to Paul and John splitting.

the only spot on this album would prob be after the second chorus in kill for a dream. the lead sounds promising as if its gonna go somewhere but it just repeats for like 2 min. reminds me of keep the dream alive.

As has been said, I too would like a couple Noel sung songs, but as GDForever pointed out, we'll get those in due time.
Other than backing vocals, I miss his lyrical prowess. While the lyrics are pretty solid in places on DGSS many songs lack the charm and maturity of Noel's song writing. The melody to these songs is beautiful, I just wish - at times - there were stronger lyrics behind them.

IMO Noel should never have started singing so much on albums. Yeah I love his voice and 'ting, but he always went 1 song too far..(GOYHHL, MF, FON...)

01 Four Letter Word 02 Beatles And Stones 03 <----------------Insert Noel song here 04 For Anyone 05 The Roller 06 <----------------Insert Noel song here 07 Kill For A Dream 08 Wigwam 09 Three Ring Circus 10 <----------------Insert Noel song here 11 The Beat Goes On 12 The Morning Son
Obviously if these three songs were really good, then we could have possibly had the best Oasis album since 1995 in my opinion.
But anyway, I still love D.G.S.S as it is.

Don't miss Noel, but not in a negative way.
Just it's nice to have a Liam sung album, and it's nice to have real energy back in the songs for the first time in years. Also feel that the tracklisting is more balanced, and Liam & Andy especially are out of his shadow now.
Definitely looking forward to his solo album tho - if he ever gets around to it!

They always seem to be just 3 tracks off or so.

Noel is a genius, but he's crap at picking tracklistings. In the earlier days he was writing classics for breakfast, but in the later years, they needed every great song they could get!

Yeah absolutely shocking at picking tracklists. Even for gigs he fucked up IMO. The man is a genius but he needed to be given a slap at times.

I think Noel is one of the greatest songwriters in rock n roll history. Frankly, I didn't even think about him. Meaning, no you don't miss him.

I will continue to stick up for that tune. Filler, to be sure, but a catchy little number. Seems like it's The Girl in the Dirty Shirt of the album - not really appreciated by members, but a nice catchy pop tune.
