Nice review, pretty much sums up my thoughts on this fantastic album.....and it is a shame about soteotn as its a really catchy song but sounds like its been recorded underwater with a sponge over Liams mouth (especially in the verses)

"Liam has proven to be a disastrous songwriter over the years" - I disagree wholeheartedly, since he was the most consistent songwriter in Oasis. And it wasn't consistently bad, either. Easily the best songwriter of our generation, only behind RKid.
"Liam’s vocals are so muffled" - only if you've got a pillow over your head.
"the falsetto is fantastic" - who the fuck do you think Liam is? He's not fuckin' Cliff Richard.

Excuse me, but what is your problem? I wrote a review. You seem to have a problem with everything I've written. If you haven't noticed, I've praised the band considerably.
"Lyrically average" - I don't see what's wrong with that statement as you agreed with it.
And the comment about female vocalists, I've noticed you've "conveniently" left out the part right after that, which remarks it was a good idea.
Liam's vocals are muffled, maybe you're listening to a different song. Yes it is plain English, well done.
Did I mention Cliff Richard? No, you did. And the use of falsetto is fantastic. To be honest I don't really understand what you mean by that last comment, because I complimented Liam on his vocal ability.

I literally never want to hear it ever again already. I also think you're being a bit too critical of Lilywhite on this one, there's no way you can polish a turd as positively steaming as SOTEOTN, it's just that bad. Nice review otherwise though, I'm very pleasantly surprised on the whole with this record. |
