In terms of quality I think DGSS hold it's own against the likes of DBTT. In terms of vibe, I think it's most similar to WTSMG

Nothing wrong with a bit of manly charming sentimental tunes. Rather that than 13 tracks of absolute bullshit rockers.
When I heard Andy Bell (who is actually the best at writing rockers in Beady Eye, so he is exempted) say it was a poppy record, I breathed a sigh of relief. I did not want to waste my money on shit like Ain't Got Nothin II and god knows what else.

There is nothing wrong with the album, other than the lack of "good hits". I enjoy it for what is there. A good listen.

I think the variety of songs is the album's highest point. As putthisin has said, we got great rockers featuring guitar riffs full of attitude, you got mid-tempo songs, and ballads.
Two nights after the leak and a few hundreds of listenings, this album sounds mega to my ears!

Faaaar better than some (few tracks here and there, respectively) of the garbage that was in the last 3 Oasis lps. Chrissy has some tasty drumming throughout the Lp, smartest move in having Mr. Bell on guitar...hearing him on this new material makes me wonder if he was being held back these past years... |

With Liam going on about the amount of rock n roll songs on here i think a fair few of us expected 'faster' rockier songs, not lots of ballads. The songs are great dont get me wrong just from interviews i expected a few more faster ones. Let's put it this way: It's no Coldplay Ha ha exactly ! Nuff said |

Pretty damn close to Coldplay. I guess these songs will be played on the soft rock stations with Micheal Bolton and Kenny G. SAD!!! This is the first time in my life that I cannot listen to a full Gallagher album. I cant wait for Noely G album.

liams voice is so annoying on most tracks, like he gets a kick in his nuts I also have a problem with his voice on tracks 2,3,8,11 and it annoys me very much since his voice on DOYS was almost perfect from start to finish.It is really croaky and weak and when i get the proper album,i am going to put a lot of reverb on the whole album,to make his voice sound smoother and sweeter. |

There is a collection of members on here who are utterly in love with him though haha. They troll in this section for the sake of it and have been waiting to slag Liam off whatever. I find it so boring a times the thought crosses my mind that if Noel put out a turd the consolation would be seeing you lot squirm and defend it. Its as bad as the Liam fanboy's who think this album is one of history's finest. |
