I read in that translated interview that the songs on the album are in the order they were written aside from Four Letter Word, which was written late but put as the first track as a mission statement (so to speak).
Listening now and reading the lyrics supersonic8587 posted (great job!), The Beat Goes On (which I think is beautiful), The Morning Sun and Four Letter Word seem to me to be a step above the rest of the album lyrically - as if towards the end of the album the band were really finding their feet.
So I'm thinking that the next album will be stronger then DGSS lyrically which to be me is the only thing that lets the album down, which is what a few reviews have also touched on.
I hope this all makes sense? Aside from this brilliant album and was everything I was hoping and expecting it to be. Lets hope it gets the success it deserves.

I believe I read somwhere that FLW is actually an old Oasis-time song. And it's the Morning SON, not SUN. Otherwise, I think you might be right. The last few songs are better than the first half both lyrically AND musically.

No I think this is incorrect info, I believe that they were re-worked and recorded in that order.
SOTEOTN, Kill For A Dream & The Roller definitely originated before Oasis split and a couple of others would. Also Liam said that Bring The Light was one of his more recent efforts.
They probably brought 13 songs into the studio and re-worked them starting with Millionaire.

Can't believe I wrote 'Sun' and not Son... schoolboy error. Here's a quote from Gem in the interview: Gem: We began pretty specific, each a song. Millionaire, Beatles and Stones and The Roller where the first three. By Christmas we had 6 songs. That’s how we continued till we had 13. We all had 4, Liam 5 and they all ended up on the record in chronological order of writing except for Four Letter Word which we put as an opener. The rest is all phases of 3 songs. Here's the link to the interview, it's good reading. stopcryingyourheartoutnews.blogspot.com/2011/02/beady-eye-interview-from-oor-magazine.html

Its a great interview but it was a bitch to translate though.. Some things might have got lost in translation.. the Dutch writer of the interview had used Dutch sayings as if the band said it that way.. but you can't translate them directly to English as they would make no sense at all.. I did the best I could..

Gem makes no sense, this is obviously a PR thing, since The Roller is 8 years old (or more). That would mean Millionaire is from HC era, which it seems it isnt. They're just talking like that to make a point like "everything flowed naturally", but that's just something for the media.

Wonder if Gem even remember that Noel mentioned The Roller 10 years ago? LOL

Yeah, I guess he's not as much of a fanboy as previously suspected.
