You probaly all know this, the moment you get home drunk and start to play all the Oasis records that... well, just make you feel awesome. The Roller does that to me, kind of. But only till I hear The Masterplan, or Live Forever. It is when I listen to these songs that I realize that Beady Eyeis probaly not going to do that to me. Ah fuck it. What do we know, it's been just one day since it happened. We all knew it was imminent. But can we really judge the album right know? Some of you are rating all songs 8+ and others are calling it shite.
I think it needs some time before we can be objective...

OK, breathe out, relax. Nobody is going to take Live Forever or Masterplan from you.
BDI are giving you EXTRA songs in your life. Then play 'Wigwam' and play the ending REALLY loud and see what happens!

IMO some 90's Oasis tunes hailed as "classics" are overrated because of their symbolism and the prominent status they have in the Oasis history. The listeners can't help but to correlate them with the tunes which make them sound better when they aren't.

^ I thought the songs I think of as Oasis classics now were amazing before I got into the whole Oasis mythology.
I live in Canada and I was only 12 in 1997 after which Oasis were a non-entity for the most part...so I didn't get any of the hype...and I don't really have any personal nostagia about them...

haha i hear you. But thats age.
Rolling Stones never released another Exile, Beggars Banquet, Sticky Fingers and Let it Bleed. Ya, Some Girls and Bigger Bang and Bridges had their moments, but you can't create that youth and energy again.
Oasis had their time. Live Forever and Wonderwall will live on. Even if they created those songs again it wouldnt be the same (see Stop Crying Your Heart Out and Slide Away).
Beady Eye is great for Oasis fans. I believe this is a good thing.

I shouldn't post when I'm drunk. And ofcourse Els is right. I guess it was a hint of disappointment sneaking in. But right now I'm gonna listen all the songs through and through and through so I can sing it out loud on March 21..

Wigwam makes me feel very drunk......best musical moment in a long time....most of this album stands up well......and think of the poor moments on the last 4 Oasis albums and then compare to the lesser songs of this and DGSS seems an even greater record imo

The moment I'm drunk I'm gonna revive my concept album thread, and all hell will break loose in it when I do. ;D

I wanne be drunk & listen to the album right now. But I don't have alcohol. And for some reason I live in f* Sweden right now, and you can't by alcohol over here after 6pm on weekdays. It's just ridiculous. And to go a pub you have to be over 22 (twenty two !!!!). And if you want to get drunk in a pub, you'd pay a fortune!
(Systembolaget and everything concerning their alcholol policy iare the only things I hate about Sweden though, lovely country ;p)

Agreed. Another thing that struck me as signaling how great of a record DGSS is were the number of different responses that singles thread got. There were 9 different songs mentioned by different posters giving their choices for singles (nine... out of 13!!!). That is a telltale sign of a great record.
