a great Noel track like Falling Down, The Importance of Being Idle But, as you may know, this is not an Oasis album. This is a new band called Beady eye. So many stubborn people on this forum.

It's more of a ramshackle collection of songs than an 'album.'

It's more of a ramshackle collection of songs than an 'album.' wow. i couldnt disagree with more posts in this thread if i trried haha.. the only reason DOYS may seem more lika an album is dave sardy tied songs together. put some in the same key next to each other etc ( bag it up/ turning) otherwise people would be saying the same thing bout that album. revolver is a ramshackle collection you could say compared to sgt peppers but its all in the production. AND show me your love comments must die! there is nothing remotely exceptional about that clip. cmon people. it didnt sound like if theres a god which to me sounds like the best melody noel has done in years. i think people just became sheep for show me your love. theres nothing that great about it at all in my opinion. so many better traks we have right in front of us!!

It's more of a ramshackle collection of songs than an 'album.' Nah, I disagree. Albums can be very diverse and still definitely remain complete works. I think DGSS is like this. You have: -A killer opening track in Four Letter Word -A great (and fitting) closer in The Morning Son -Side A is generally about straight rock 'n' roll and little acoustic things while Side B is more about the big, massive, bring-the-arena down type song. I think the album's diversity is one of its strong suits, actually.

It's missing two Noel sung songs to replace WUD and SOTEOTN, and one Noel penned Liam sung first single like song.
If it had these and obviously they needed to be quality (i.e TIOBI, LBL and TSOTL) my God would this be the best album in about 20 odd fuckin' years.
Still a great album though.

There are very few reasons for me to wish for a Noel sung song when Liam Gallagher is avaliable. One of the best things about it is that Liam sings everything.

I see a lot of people say how Noel's voice is better than Liam's nowadays, but Liam's still got something that keeps me coming back. And he show SO much range on this album. Possibly more than any album he's ever done. Noel always sounds the same to me, and I'm afraid it could make his solo album a bit redundant.

There's still nothing better than a Noel written, Liam sung track. But how often did that happen in the later years? Hardly ever. And maybe that was the problem.
