Back in 1996 when I was livin in London, we were all one. We had a ralling cry. Cool Britianna etc - and Oasis fit perfectly. Now the pub culture is dying, british rock is a dying beast. Kids are not into being british anymore - they want imported garbage or british versions of imported garbage...Jessie J.
Beady Eye is for us dying breed...the british rock music fan!

Not that I'm from britain, but this is spot on. There were two rock singles among the hundred best selling singles of 2010 in the UK, and one of them was Journey - Don't Stop Believing!

Agree Britain has changed but there is still a sizeable audience that listen to rock/alternative music but they don't buy singles anymore rock has become a live/album market and other artists thrive in single sales

Funny you mention that the pub culture is dying; I was just talking about this last night. The bars around here are struggling, too. Ten years ago, every bar on the corner would be packed; now they're all but deserted, especially during the week. I know the economy's bad, but don't people drink anymore??

Damn Conservatives. I guess times are different now, so many new laws that prevent the good old rock'n'roll days (I'm 16 so what my dad tells me, and what I know) such as it being illegal to drive while under the influence so this prevents people driving to pubs when they usually would. Too many laws now.

It's funny you should complain. At least there are English rock/pop bands and many of them are great (BDI, Arctic Monkeys, The Kooks). Where I live, there are literally no rock bands at all. Most people listen to shit electro music. I don't even dare listening to the radio anymore.

I drive a scooter to get out and about from A to B, and I really don't like the thought of some fucking idiot knocking me off on the way back from the pub. What has having a car and drink driving go to do with being rock'n'roll anyway?

I agree with you guys about the way the culture is dying. But let me tell that in France, there is not one correct band in the country. We're OK for cooking but for music ... ;D

Yeah - America is the pits. TBH, Canada still has it going on...The Hip, Sloan, Blue Rodeo - not necessarily the coolest bands, but they are all guitar rock - or rock and roll. No what also bugs me? THere are really cool non-rock bands here in the USA like Passion Pit. But we dont ever hear them on the radio - just Katie Parry saying that we are all Fireworks....

You obviously havn't been confronted with a drunk driver crashing in to one of your friends/family yet.
