And I don't think Noel's songs would have been the highlight either.

wow, that would have been great maybe they should have record dig out your soul 2 years later. That could rival WTSMG

would have never happened. as we all know Noel decided what songs would go on the album. he would've never allowed(in fact i think that's just what he did with DOYS) the others to outshine his tunes. oh well... whatever.

Everything on DGSS is the result of actually giving a fuck about the music. DOYS was hampered by Liam's apparent lack of interest in the album. Little fucker did it to himself. He now cares, and has something to prove, so of course it is better.

Noel was hoarding songs from the start, so it meant that Liam, Gem and Andy were forced to work their hardest handicapped. Thus, TNOR was put out when classics were stopped from being on the album.

I get what you're saying, but Liam spent more time at home with the misses instead of in the studio on DOYS. He didn't care, which is why some classics were left off of the album. He simply didn't show up to record, while on DGSS he was there everyday working his arse off. More effort equals better records, thats all I'm getting at.

He's not going to cancel his honeymoon to do some vocals on another Oasis track when he's already done 15-20 vocals.

^You have clearly missed my point. If you miss work, you get fucked over, when Liam misses work, we get fucked over!

He's not going to cancel his honeymoon to do some vocals on another Oasis track when he's already done 15-20 vocals. Even Gem says he was rarely there during the DOYS recording. We can't say it's just Noel being prejudiced when he said that Liam never put a lot of effort into recording...and that isn't even mentioning the absence during mixing. Even Liam doesn't claim to have put in a lot of effort Liam can talk a big talk about how he was really into Oasis...but there is no denying that he put in the minimal effort Noel required...and even that was too much for him. He isn't a shrinking violet...if he had truly wanted to push himself into a more active role he would have. He was satisfied to lay it on Noel though. He never complained that he wanted more responsibility. Noel once said that Liam was institutionalized by Oasis. Reading him talked about the 'Oasis voice' I can understand that. I think forcing Liam to engage with the creative process could be the best thing that could have happened. Noel did the best thing he could have for Liam IMO. Even though that hurts as an Oasis fan. It probably should have happened before DOYS. That was a Noel concept album that he dragged everyone else into. He tries to treat Oasis like his own private vehicle again...and it wasn't possible.

1. Four Letter Word 2. Bag It Up 3. The Turning 4. Waiting For The Rapture 5. The Shock of the Lightning 6. Millionaire 7. The Beat Goes On 8. For Anyone 9. Kill For A Dream 10. I'm Outta Time 11. Falling Down 12. Wigwam 13. The Morning Son Album of the millennium? Discuss... Not sure Gem would be happy with that but it sounds good to me. I would slip in The Boy With The Blues & The Roller.

Here would be my version (realistic considering DOYS had 3 Liam songs, 1 Gem, and 1 Andy):
Side A
1. Four Letter Word 2. Waiting For The Rapture 3. The Roller 4. I Believe In All 5. Falling Down
Side B
6. The Shock of the Lightning 7. I'm Outta Time 8. Bag It Up 9. The Turning 10. Boy With The Blues

I've tried to pick one that would still fit in the DOYS Dave Sardy mould.
1 Bag It Up 2 Millionaire 3 Waiting For The Rapture 4 The Shock Of The Lightning 5 I'm Outta Time 6 Three Ring Circus 7 Falling Down 8 Wind Up Dream 9 Everybody's On The Run 10 Wigwam 11 The Beat Goes On 12 Boy With The Blues
......something like that would be the best since Morning Glory hands down. Plus it would leave The Morning Son, The Roller, The Turning, I Believe In All, For Anyone, Soldier On & High Horse Lady etc as b-sides.
Everyone gets a decent shot on the album too; Noel with 5, Liam with 3 and Gem & Andy get 2 each.

Wait, I thought "Beady Eye is a completely different band to Oasis!!!!!!!"
Aren't we saying that any more? I seem to remember people being quite adamant/indignant about it.
I can't keep up with you fickle c*nts.

^ You wouldn't put on The Turning? And what's Everybody's On The Run? I think the Turning is a great song, just think Millionaire would sound really nice coming off the end of Bag It Up. Those were a collection of the Oasis & Beady Eye songs that I thought would sound good together and not necessarily the best. Not having 'For Anyone', 'Four Letter Word' and 'The Turning' are good examples of that. Also I know we've only heard 90 seconds of Everybody's On The Run but it sounded really special to me and would be nice to have another slower acoustic song on the record like that.
