Well let me say that mister Andy Bell is the big thing on this record..he has done very good tracks.
Now I'm wondering on what drugs Noel was on when he picked up for DOYS and HC songs like Nature of Reality and A quick peep instead of this beautiful pieces of music Bell has done.

Yes, Andy seems to be the emerging songwriter of the three.

Andy and Gem were wasted at Oasis tbh , showing their true colours now and its paying off !

Andy's songs are incredible. But I think Noel chose The Nature of Reality for DOYS even though Andy thought it was the worst of his songs. Maybe Noel decided against Four Letter Word ;D

Noel didnt use them because Noel always had to have the best songs on an oasis album..simple.

there is some truth 2 that. noel already knew tha liam had one of the best songs on the album. i dont think he'd have been too pleased if andy also had a song that was better than most of his.

emerging songwriter ha. you realize he wrote vapor trail right in 1990 or 1991.
nature of reality fit the sound of dig out your soul noel wanted an overall sound.
when you don't have an overall sound you get a record like different gear still speeding which sounds like a mix tape.

Okay, but many Oasis fans (myself included) have made "mix tapes" of DOYS, subbing out weaker songs for better B-sides. So clearly it did not work, at least in the minds of some fans.

^Yeah, but imagine FLW replacing TNOR -- it would sound jarring in context with the rest of the album.

It would have been a good opener of DOYS instead of the turgid Bag It Up. Boy With the Blues should have finished the album, with Soldier On somewhere in the middle.

Andy wasn't wasted with Oasis, he just didn't feel the need to work very hard for anything, so his tunes were shite. He like, Liam, now has a platform to show us what they have and they are making good use of the time.
As for Gem, his songs on this record just don't stack up with the others. It's kinda odd.
Lastly, Lillywhite deserves the credit for this album! He was able to take what they had and give us some great tunes. Fucking genius!

I have to disagree, Andy's songs are generally good-great,,, but not classics imo. I think the most brilliant songs in this album are Liam's. And yes I know he also wrote mediocre stuff in here but bands, specially debut bands build up from amazing songs and thats what Liam wrote in For Anyone, The Morning Son and Wigwam.

The melodies in Millionaire and The Beat Goes On really make these tracks stands out from the norm... I must say though, The Roller is by far the worst track on the album. All in all though a very good, uplifting listen... very impressed with the direction the album has taken!

I love Andy's output but those three must be my favorite songs on the album. Liam has something special, and when he nails it, he nails it.
