So now that we've heard DGSS how does this album measure up to the Oasis albums?

for me it's:
1. DM 2. MG ----------5 stars------------ 3. BHN 4. SOTSOG & DGSS 5. DOYS & DBTT ----------4 stars------------ 6. HC
I can't really describe it but there's something lacking in DBTT. Maybe it would have been better if Lillywhite produced it. and DOYS.. well everybody knows where the weak ones are.

1. DM 2. MG 3. BHN ------------------------------------------ 4. HC 5. DBTT 6. SOTSOG 7. DOYS 8. DGSS
The first three can´t be touched. The order of the others can be changed. DBTT is all about TIOBI

If that kiss Noels ass was meant for me I´ll say this: He´s the one with the best tunes. I´m not kissing his ass though. He picked songs for the albums very, very wrong. Liam´s on his way to be a good songwriter. Get rid of the AGN,BTL and MOS ones and he´ll be alright. Give Andy Bell more space on the next album and it can be really really good. The last 4 oasis album and the BDI one is almost on the same level.

WTSMG DM DOYS --- DGSS SOTSOG DBTT HC BHN
4th for me. Be Here Now i rarely listen to, Heathen Chemistry apart from the singles i dont listen to much.
To be fair this has just come out so at the moment its high up as its all 'new and exciting'. But i'm honstly loving it though. (Might be in the minority but i loved dig out your soul)

compared to oasis it would be the worst album, no doubt about it, maybe standing side by side with dbtt

lol DBTT is arguable Oasis' 3rd or 4th best album. Is this album better or as good as DBTT ? i'll say yes right now but my answe may change in the future. It's not on par with the 1st two, that's for sure. but then again, what is? those 2 albums are all time greats.

DM - WTSMG BHN DGSS SOTSOG DOYS HC DBTT
This album is GREAT and very fresh.. Comparing with the latest Oasis albums, I like DOYS but it lacks something and I think DBTT is the worst..

Id say it compares with most of their 2000 albums. Its hard not to imagine what it would be like if we could take off the worst songs and replace them with some of Noels, as the best songs are far better then any other songs that LAG have released on Oasis albums, except for 'Songbird' and 'Im Outta Time'

I'm surprised that we can compare it to Oasis albums and even say it's better than a few of them. I never thought I would have been saying that 6 months ago

Great production, instrumentation and vocals, but the melodies and songwriting, whilst very good doesn't stack up against Noel's stuff. But it does beat SOTSOG, HC and DOYS.
1. DM 2. WTSMG 3. BHN 4. DBTT
5. DGSS
6. SOTSOG 7. DOYS 8. HC

DM WTSMG BHN DOYS DGSS DBTT HC SOTSOG
Having said that, i have a problem in, whilst it's a solid effort, there's no absolute classics on there for me and too many of the songs drag toward the end (BTL, Wigwam, SOTEON especially). Every Oasis album has always had a "oh my god that's my new favourite song ever" moment on the first listen but I haven't had that with this. I'm gonna listen to it a lot before the Apollo gig in 3 weeks but I'll probably not come back to most of it as much as I do with the albums above it. That and the fact that I buy a lot of music and I can't listen to the same thing all the time.
But, if this is the sort of stuff LAG were writing when Oasis were about and Noel favoured some of the shite we got instead, the Chief needs his head banging against a wall!

I'm amazed I like it better than any Oasis albums. It could go higher or lower the more I hear it but I love it at this point.

What were the likes of ABWR, TNOR, etc doing on albums in place of some of these tunes? I say it can stack up with DBTT well, sitting at a very respectable midtable place in the Oasis legacy.

I was thinking the same thing. What was the chief thinking? That's in the past though and we have this great album to show for it now. I'd agree it's somewhere in the middle of the Oasis catalog. That should definitely be considered a win for Beady Eye and us.
