Loving it! Wind Up Dream is the only song that isn't that amazing, and even it is better than I had thought. SOTEOTN is actually great too!

I'm really impressed by Liam's song writing since the majority of the time in Oasis, Noel was relied on to write most songs!

Well, I'm a terrible fan, because I only just bought the album about a week ago...
Sadly for me, I missed all the excitement about the release and discovery of the music. But I just want to say how happy I am with this album, and how much I love some of the songs.
My review: On first listen, I immediately loved "Millionaire", "For Anyone" (a sweet melodic classic Rock-n-Roll vibe, like Buddy Holly) and "Morning Son". The combination of the speeding guitar and dreamy vocals on Morning Son is close to perfect for me. Reminds me of Built to Spill a bit. And I find Millionaire almost addictive in it's listenablity (is that a word?), reminescent of early Pink Floyd, but not a rip off, it becomes it's own song.
On further listens - Wigwam has become my favorite song. I was at first put off by it's "easy listening" vibe, but now I think it's brilliant, almost trance-like. It's original and personal and compelling -- well done, Beady Eye.
I've also come to really like the rockitude of Beatles & Stones and Standing on the Edge of the Noise and Kill for a Dream. My biggest complaint is Liam's Lennon impersonation that keeps surfacing throughout the music -- it's distracting and they can do better than to impersonate. Why copy someone else when you can be your own thing?
Ok - that's all.

2 months on and it's still sounding good. The album has a lot of variation so it's hard to not find a song that will suit you mood at that time, I can more or less I've listened to a tune or two from it every day.
The songs that have been played most are Kill For A Dream, Beatles & Stones & Millionaire (according to my itunes)

This record is definitely a 4/5 for me as well. There are a few tunes that if replaced would make it a 5 but I'm perfectly happy with a 4 for the first record. But... the next one better be amazing.

All in all an impressive debut album for a band especially coming from all established musicians Totally agree. In some ways it sounds very different, in others you have the usual Oasis 'la la la' type of chorus. But a whole album of brand new tunes. I'm sad that we might not her Wonderwall ever again but on the other hand going to a gig and its the same usual playlist was getting a 'bit' boring. Looking forward to seeing them in March and hearing all these songs. Love Mllionaire, i really want to hear them play that live with some heavy bass (Bit like the clip you had with those italian guys talking over it). But a great debut, very pleased with it so far, just sounds so new/fresh/different from the usual Oasis stuff

I like it still. Its grown on me as well, not that I disliked it or anything at first.
I don't think there are any classics on it, but there are a lot of very good individual songs, and it flows as an album as well. It isn't an album where you have to be in the right mood to listen to, like DOYS imo.
Even Beatles and Stones and Bring The Light have grown on me. Not keen on Three Ring Circus or Wind Up Dream though. Four Letter Word, Millionaire, Morning Son and The Beat Goes On are the stand out songs imo.

yes, after a couple of months i can honestly say that i still like this album, much more so than DOYS. I rarely listen to anything off that album these days, in fact the only songs i've listened more to more than once ever since it came out are TSOTL and IOT. I still listen to WFTR to this day though, i like that song a lot. But back to DGSS, there are a couple of songs i skip religiously(Beatles and Stones, BTL) but the rest of the album is golden... I don't listen to the Roller much but i hear it all the time because my kid brother has it for his ringtone so...

It has remained great and fresh after more than two months. That's a great sign. I've tried not to burn it, listened to it a lot the first few weeks, but afterwards saved it like a pleasure I give myself from time to time.
Great record.
