Was making a comment in a previous thread about how much I really like World Ouside My Room. But I was just wonder. Am I the only person who thinks this the best BDI track so far.
Its a really good track and its the one BDI song that I don't skip on my IPOD. Its the only song that really an 8.5/10 for me. The lyrics are really good, the melody is pretty good, and Liam's vocal on it is probably one his best vocals post 2000.
I think on a different album, it would be a great track toward the end of an album. Seems like it hasnt been talked about enough. To me its better than BTL, TR, SOTS, and even a little bit better than FLW (just because FLW has a couple of weak spots and WOMR doesnt). But yeah, to me its the best they have released so far.

Lyrically it is probably the best but in other areas I prefer others.
All round I would say FLW is the best. Strong lyrics, nice sound and its rockin too but WOMR is really good. They work well together as the 7", a very strong promo.

I agree with you. It ties with Four Letter Word for me and friends I've played this to love it the most. They laugh when they hear The Roller and Bring the Light due to the obvious stealing. WOMR is probably the best song they've released so far lyrically. I'd give it a 8.0-8.5 at the moment.

IMO, Four Letter Word is the best one so far, and funnily enough, WOMR is the only BDI song I sometimes skip when it comes up in my playlist - it's a bit boring sometimes. I haven't even skipped Bring The Light or Sons of the Stage yet! Still, WOMR remains a quality track and an amazing b-side.

FLW is pretty good. The riff gets old after the 5,000th time its used. lol Liam's voice gets a bit too nasally. And FLW still has solo that's placed in the wrong places. And it suffers from the same thing as BTL, 1 minute too long. FLW has too many weak spots. The great energy hides a lot of those mistakes.
As an overrall track. WOMR is better song imo. Just because there's no real weak spots in it. WOMR is a 8.5/10, while FLW is a 7.9/10. Too many mistakes to put as an 8/10. The energy really saves it.

Doesnt really have to come after the second chorus, but it shouldn't be that early in a song. Sad thing is that its a pretty good solo. If put a bit later, it would have really helped out the song. That early in a song, it just sounds clumsy and a bit awkward.

Something that is not familiar doesn't mean a wrong thing, I guess

^^Ummm, no its not. Of course there are multiple structures of songs. And some that I have experimented with and some that I have listened to. (especially Roy Orbison, who probably does the weirdest structuring of songs). The solo does come a bit quickly. Even on a 10th listen it comes a bit too quickly.
Is it wrong, I dont know. Thats to each and his own, I guess. Its just hard to appreciate a good solo when its in the first 45 seconds of the song and by the time you listen to the next 3 and a half minutes, its been forgotten.
Anyways I'm sorry if I'm belaboring the point. I think the placement of the solo was talked about in some other thread.

It could work right there but the song might need to be a bit short like a two minute song, and well its not wrong because they tried to do something different from the oasis tag and this might be the closest song to that sound but yet sounds different!

^^Would agree. Its the length of the song that betrays it. Song should be about 40 seconds to a minute shorter. The solo would work right there if it was. But at that length, wish they had put the solo just a bit deeper into the song.

The lyrics are indeed good, but I still dislike the sleeping dog part.....It just doesn't sound like it fits in with the story well enough.

World Outside My Room is the track I've listened to the least so far. I just think the guitar solo and the backing aaaaahhh vocals are terrible and the song is too long for what it is. Most listened to track so far- Four Letter Word

I'm pretty sure this might have been mentioned before, but it appears that both World Outside My Room, and Sons Of The Stage will be included on the Japanese edition of Different Gear, Still Speeding.
