I think its obvious the more succesful a band is, the higher the chances are they will release more material and stick around. so many bands, stone temple pilots, guns n roses, rage against the machines etc have had bands that formed after the breakup but some fail horribly (anyone remember talk show? didnt think so)
so i dont think beady eye will have the success of Oasis obviously but what bands do you think they will mirror in terms of success? in europe will they be as big as kings of leon?
i guess this stems from me feeling they fumbled the first singles chart wise, and am worried the album may sell ridicuosly low in the States. the tour sales are promising but a part of me wonders what if it all goes belly side up as liam would say?

As big as Kings of Leon? That's the barometer? Man, KOL were like twice as big as Oasis when Oasis split.

BDI have practically no chance of making even a dent in the US - bar the hard core Oasis fans like us.
Although, I have heard some radio hosts mention BDI stateside here after playing a an Oasis track. I don't really listen to the radio, though, so no idea if they band themselves are getting an proper air time in the Mid atlantic region.

Irrelevant to the discussion at hand. If you feel the need to tell everyone what your opinion is, fine, but that has nothing to do with the topic.

I think as for Europe they will be something like Kasabian, which is fine by me. Won't get to much airplay except for the more alternative radio station, but will have their fans and will be huge at festivals.

Don't think they'll do too well in Germany. Oasis isn't that big here either - guess BDI need more than one album to make it. And what's the deal with Kings of Leon? I never got why they're so popular.

I never got why they're so popular. Because their first 2 albums are both fantastic which built up a big loyal fanbase. Then came the next 3 (awful) albums that appealed to the casual music fans. So there you have the loyal fans continuing to buy and the casual fans starting to buy and this equals many albums sold.

KOL were like twice as big as Oasis when Oasis split. In North America? True. But not in the UK,South America, Japan. Definitely not! Talking about the rest of Europe, they both played the large indoor venues on their last tour, should be square.

I actually like KOL's last Album, it's pretty good, imo better than the first two. But I understand, it's the typical haters mentality, piss on everything that's popular... be it Blur, coldplay or U2 etc

I think as for Europe they will be something like Kasabian. Yeah I totally agree, a reasonably big band that can easily play arena tours throughout the UK if they wanted. Think they will also be a decent act around Europe and be able to play decent sized venues and will headline big festivals before long. In America, who knows how they will escalate but they could fair well in 6 or 7 major cities. Likewise Asia, Australia and South Africa. So they'll do well in their own right but nowhere near as good as Oasis.

^ Partially true. They're bigger in other places, but after Sex On Fire and all that they're huge here.

^ I'd agree. KoL are definitely on the radar in North America after "Sex on Fire."

They wont be as big as kasabian. they dont have the kind of party tunes that they have. I think BE will be on a parallel with Them Crooked Vultures - Dave Grohl's new band. They will generate interest in the music press and with music fans due to the association with Oasis and the figures in the band, but they will not be familiar with the general music public or casual record buyers.
