Theres loads of dodgy links out there already and basically its aim is for you to install some dodgy crap on your machine.
Believe me when it leaks it'll be everywhere, at the moment theres only some strange links which you have to sign/enter passwords and other crap and theyre obviously fake and dodgy as hell

Be careful when posting your email address, it may leave you open to receiving spam In reference to gmail and google. They own blogger and have shut down countless music websites which were hosted on blogger without warning. Obviously if you are distributing copyrighted material using googles email service you are asking for trouble...... the guy who leaked Chinese Democracy got picked up by the feds and was put in the slammer , Axel made sure of that  |

I, personally, thought my idea was genius - have one master email address for this.
And how could Proboards care? It would be 'coincidence' *cough* should a leak show up in that email account. Anyway, surely a post with an email account listed is out of their jurisdiction in any case.

I don't know how many people can be logged in at the same time though. There will be hundreds of us wanting access to it. That's true. Maybe something in the middle that doesn't involve everyone involved logging in @ basically the same time? Maybe we could just give the account to 10 or 15 of the regulars and not posting it on the main boards. It would just mean that when the leak came whoever is the first person to access the email account would just forward the email with the links to the rest of the list. It's hardly a complicated or difficult thing to do. Forward>>select all>>send. |

Ok guys. I have the solution. We all know nothing beats twitter for real-time news feed. So I've set up an account: @dgssleak an here's how it works:
1. You need to have a twitter account and follow @dgssleak
2.Whoever gets the you-know-what first just has to tweet a DIRECT MESSAGE to @dgssleak.
3. In a matter of seconds everyone who is following @dgssleak will read the tweet and get the link. You can get it to your cell phone if this works in your country or just to your tweeter feed. (the tweet will be private)
4. Happy days!
No one needs any password and we dont need to worry about saturating the web.
Everyone can tweet whatever news or comments they have. Just remember to send DIRECT MESSAGES to this account only an everyone else will be able to read it.
So if you like this idea just start following @dgssleak in twitter. The person who gets it tweets it and its done!!!!!!!!

Never downloaded the leak when DBTT and DOYS leaked back in time. Its just not something for me. I'll hold my copy of the very first BE album less than 3 weeks and meanwhile my life goes on. |

Exactly, i dont see why people act all Mother Teresa and moan at people for wanting it now. What next ? Moaning at a girlfriend if she bought an early xmas or birthday present for you ! I've got my t shirt ordered, got 6 tickets for me and my mates to see BDI, i bought the Roller (not just the free one we all got, wanted to buy it), i'm a huge fan and really want the album. If i can listen to it a few weeks early good on me. Its like american shows on english tv, if it wasnt for us downloading them from the US you would wait 9 months for the next season, because of downloaders Sky/Ch4 now often show the next episode a few days after the US. If Beady Eye say 'sod it we'll release it on the 14th Feb' are these 'angels' going to say 'no no i'm waiting till the original release date on the 28th' etc ?!? As long as people who get the leak then buy the album i dont think anyone can complain. |

If someone downloads it and doesnt buy it, theyre the types to probably not buy it anyway even if it didnt leak (They'll get it off a friend or simply listen to it online and not bother). I dont see in the year 2011 why its so exciting to wait for the 'official' release date. I dont care so much about the album booklet, its the songs 100%, the rest (the cover/booklet/dvd) can wait till later. Many of us are true fans here, get it asap (It'll still be very exciting, hearing it in full for the first time, chatting to fellow fans here about it) then the 'no i'm waiting till the official release date' brigade. Liam cares if you buy the album, as long as you buy it i'm sure hes not that fussed by a leak. Totally agree with you.
The problem with leaks is that is something without control. There is people (not from here I think) that will never buy the album because it’s 'free', but this is something unstoppable nowadays. What is difficult to know is if the people who download a leak album would have bought it.

To be fair i prefer having CD singles, having digital only releases (or records) i've got no interest in. If it wasnt for us 'computer dorks' there would be tons of TV shows you would have to wait months to see, probably overpay on albums compared to the rest of europe/UK and so on. And as the other poster said, its the year 2011, times change. You'll be moaning next about the Wii or X-Box and how you prefer the C64 ! |

Here's minority too.
We're not moaning about leak or people who's waiting for the leak. We don't act like Mother Teresa. I just hate leak and everything has to do with leak. Wating for leak or hating leak doesn't mean if you're a "real" fan or not.
Like I said in the other thread (email list), everyone is on their own responsibility.
I really think things like this is getting a bit mental past days.
I'm afraid that it's gonna losing control and ruin the greateness of this place. People are forgetting why we joined here.
and yes, it's 2011 and time change, people change.
But there's always something never change.
