its still up to us to see "the roller" or any Beady Eye release higher in the charts. you dont have to buy it twice!once is enough n thats fair if you think that we are talking about a band we already love n the fact that the price is too low for downloading. show your love n download the track. personally charts these days means nothing to me but i still want to see great rock songs in the charts or hear them in radio or anywhere else.we cant quit from our right to hear good music n not only in our home...

Look, it's obvious by the staggered release and the general lack of active promotion that they aren't too bothered about a good chart position for this. So asking fans to spend their hard earned cash buying multiple copies at a time when the government are shafting us for every penny is not on. I'll buy the track, once, when the b-side is issued and not a second before.

I think the way they have released all their music so far shows they are not too fussed about singles.
If the album does poorly then it is a different matter but singles no longer define a band's success its their live ability and album sales.
For example most see Kasabian's last album as a success and that they became bigger off it yet apart from fire, the other singles charted at 30 and 32 respectively. Elbow have had only 3 top 20 hits.
Even the arctic monkeys whose first single off their albums usually go to number 1 only got to 12.
Would it be nice if it go higher, yes, but with the lack of promotion, b-side, and formats have hindered it but also shows that they do not care about single chart position.

Not 34 or 33 either. Would be amusing if it charted at #31 (where Supersonic charted)

It's a new band & has no divine right to have a good position, & to be honest they've hardly promoted it have they?
Even with the album, it may not break into the top ten

The Vaccines have just gone in, another new guitar band but they lack the popularity of Liam, so I the Roller will just pip that. Expect to see it soon around 27/28.

The Roller at #31 (Same as Supersonic ) So they'll play Knebworth in 2013, after two #1 albums

Why wouldn't the album be nr. 1? Last shadow puppets had a nr. 1 album... And Alex Turner + Miles Kane < Liam Gallagher ;-)

Its a shame the vinyl wasnt released today, that might have give it a push into the mid twenties next week but all momentum will have been lost by the 21st.
Beady Eye have f**ked up on this one.

No.31?!!! Hahahaha! Just goes to show how fucked up the singles charts are these days! Lets hope the album don't suffer the same fate.

Bet it will rise again when the vinyl comes out though. Lots of singles chart quite low then rise these days because of staggered releases.

It sold 10,785 copies. Compared to TSOTL selling 32,119 copies (with physical release).
To compare to Liam's last single, IOT sold 15,981 with a physical release (although this was the albums second single and should not be compared to a first single)

The Roller is back in the top 40 in the midweeks thanks to the physical release. Staying there until Sunday is a different story though

Where do you check that midweek chart?
The Roller is back in iTunes single chart as well. And I think a lot of people are probably also buying the digital bundle from the BE website, so that should be good for the charts as well.
Still don't get why they diidn't release it all at once though... They could've gone a lot higher than 31!

^ I know, but if they would have released physical format and online download at the same time the music wouldn't be different & a good chart position never hurts.
