Its really starting to scare me though how some are jumping on souldigger. He said he didnt like it and he thought it was horrible. okay? Is that any reason to jump on jim and try to "the saviour" of the band? Sure he might be judging them by Oasis standards, but that's no reason to tell him to shut up. Its his opinion. And for someone to say to him to "go kill himself" is just totally out of line. If you dont like his opinion then ignore it. I dont see why some jump on people for holding a different opinion. I do think that people were more looking for a reason to jump on Souldigger as opposed to responding to what he said specifically about the preview clip. I called him an ass and although I don't know him, he certainly is an attention whore, at the very least. The Facts and Fiction section is riddled with nonsense "look at me!" topics and fake news stories.

What I was speaking out against is the fact that someone literally told him "to kill himself" because he went with a different opinion. I have a feeling that if someone told, say Rita to go kill herself because she went with a different viewpoint, a lot more people would say its wrong. I get that Souldigger as been an ass and a dick, but it souldnt matter as to who the person is when it comes to saying to someone that they should "kill themsleves." I dont see how anyone cannot see this as crossing the line? |

Well to be honest with you, I consider someone saying "go kill yourself" on a forum basically meaning 'delete your account'. But that's just the way I interpret it. I highly doubt this Souldigger fella would take any offense to someone on a forum saying it. Especially since he probably thinks that he is immortal anyway  |

For those attacking me because I'm defending souldigger, please attack my points and not the fact that I'm "defending souldigger". I'm just saying that for anyone to jump on someone that much for stating a sepreate opinion, is just wrong. And it probably doesnt mean that I'm "defending" souldigger (because he is an ass), but I'm really talking about others who may say that they dont like something and then they always get jumped upon. Its not so much a defense of souldigger, but a defense of an open opinion for others who may not agree with what might be the consensus.

Why don't we get this thread back in track?
For me it sounds very promising indeed. Like a few others here, I also got the Live And Let Die vibe. Very cool. If the clip is anything to go by, it sounds like a pretty heavy song as well.
And that's one of the reasons I love Bag It Up so much. Compared to other Oasis songs, it's probably one of Oasis' more heavier ones. I really wan't Four Letter Word to be an opener like Bag It Up was. One of the best Oasis song this side of the millenium in my opinion.

Why is everyone giving this troll (Souldigger) any attention? He obviously got his five minutes of fame and he loves every second of it.
Anyway, I love the vibe of this song. I'm a little worried about how the vocals will play a part in this song. And I feel as if this is the middle of the song, kind of like the middle of Falling Down with the guitar riff. This song sounds very promising and I can't wait to hear more.

If you read my post better, I think you'll find that I was not referring to his post. I was referring to the "kill yourself" post. I think I put a seperate post to explain that that was the main point and the main thing that I was arguing against. And telling someone to "kill themself" because they didnt agree with the opinion of the band that you hold, is the very definition of fandom. |

This forum has gotten pretty divisive and nasty when there's a new BDI thing to discuss. Can we all stop the unnecessary fighting? Trolls wouldn't troll if people ignored them. As for people being in the minority for opinions? So what? No one agrees with everyone all of the time. I've said this before, and I'll say it again - we're all on this forum because we share the same passion, which is the love for Oasis and supporting the brothers Gallagher. Can we put our petty differences aside and actually unite as a collective community, even if that does mean, paradoxically, of having the odd difference of opinion along the way?
As for the clip - it's ok in my opinion. Honestly not enough for me to judge either way. It's cool that we're being teased, but that's really all this is. It's just whetting our appetite. And by judging by the comments on here, most seemed starved and are hoping BDI can bring a full four course meal to the table. Here's hoping, as I know I, myself, am famished. [Actually, that was a good analogy, expect to see me use it in subsequent posts ;D ]

An addendum: Differences of opinions are actually good things. Differences can help people see things another way, and provide lively, engaging, and thought provoking discussions. We're all on here to discuss different aspects of the band and subsequent musical projects. How boring would it be if we all agreed Magic Pie was shit (which it isn't, imo) for example? As for the "kill yourself" comment: That was crossing the line, no matter what you think of the person. Let's say that the member took that 'advice', as has been the case with some cyber bullying of young teens in the past. How would you feel then? Words have meaning. Think before you speak (or type).
