It sold around 4000 vinyls and around 1500 dowloads? There's nothing special about that.

Considering that they gave it away for free, 61 is pretty impressive. Still its only a chart.

Supersonic was an official release and it didn't do that much better this free download?!?!?! 61 is down right amazing in reality.
the Oasis comment was simply irresponsible by Liam.

I'm actually hoping they dont release the album on MySpace or anything until they release it physically

lol so much for being "bigger and better than Oasis" What did you expect ? It was a free download, never was going to chart that high was it. If the next single (which wont be a free download) charts at #65 then yeah lets be disappointed, but when it was free hardly anyone was going to buy it off itunes were they

Supersonic was also released by a bunch of young upstarts that noone knew from Adam. BTL was released by the follow-up band of the singer one of the most successful rock 'n roll acts in British history... It was infinitely more likely that BTL would get where it did than Supersonic. Good for them, though. We will still have to wait and see where a properly released single will chart. Hopefully well. I'd be happy with a top 20.

That's good actually when all is said and done. Free and limited vynal sales. Jumping upto 61, then who knows maybe higher? Doubt it like but you never know

61 is BRILLIANT considering the HUGE majority of fans had every opportunity to get it for free.

Supersonic would probably get top ten by todays standards. I mean how many singles/downloads does a top ten act really need to sell these days? Cause Less than 3000 will get you to 61?!

Singles don't mean shit anyway, hardly anyone buys them anymore, only really teenagers off itunes (or just nicking them off torrent sites n that).
The only thing that has any chance of doing well in the charts is the album, depending on what its up against the week its released I reckon its possible it could go to number 1, but tbh at the end of the day, I don't give a shit if it comes in at number 99, if I like it and its got some good tracks on it then I'll be happy.

Bring The Light sold around 5,500 this week. Number 10 sold 33,400. Single sales are at the highest they have ever been so I'm not sure what you're getting at

Yes. True to an extent. But if you like the song/band, you're going to wish the members get the success you feel it deserves.

CD singles is almost a dead market so I am surprised singles are on the rise tbh. Music from films & adverts tend to do well as does random tracks from album releases (Hey Jude recently charted again for the Beatles for example) I'm sure by today's singles chart that Supersonic would have charted better if it sold the same amount as then.

Im very suprised it cracked the top 100. as someone mentioned above all the fans got it for free, so to get to 61 is pretty good.

Awareness is still pretty low, they need a couple of TV ads and billboards around the time of the release, and make sure people know its Liam. Only then will the masses who loved Oasis hear beady eye. I reckon only 25% or so of Oasis fans are aware of beady eye, and that'll be made up of teh hardcore (us) and people who know us
