Does anyone know what significants that ring that Noel has on his finger is? It seems like he's always had it and I'm just wondering where he got it from.  |

He bought it in a pawn shop in Japan. The name "DWAYNE" is on the ring. Said he couldn't give a fuck about the name, but he though it looked cool as fuck and that's why he got it.

Actually yes Americans do have class rings, but probably not in the way you're thinking. It's a ring that signifies what year you graduated from a certain school whether High School or College. I have one from my High School and its more than a stone and a ring. It signifies an achievement and where you've come from.

In the artwork for WTSMG you can see him wearing a Cladagh (type of Irish) ring aswell. He gave it to someone but I can't remember who

There must be a larger story behind it than what Noel has told us. He has been wearing it for years. You'd think that if it were just just he thought it looked cool but had no sentimental meaning he would have done away with it eventually.

I saw it/actually got to check it out in person in '06 and it had a red stone set in it then. So I'm assuming that's the one that came with the ring. I didn't know about it breaking. |

I’ve always had a hunch that it means something more to him too. He got it around the time he kicked the coke, so I wonder if he wears it as some sort of reminder or symbol of giving up. Seems the sort of thing I could imagine Noel doing. Also explains why he’s given a few different accounts of how he came across the ring, too personal to share.
I’m probably completely wrong and it may genuinely have no significance whatsoever and Noel just thinks it looks cool.
