Let me tell you how it all started.
It was 27th May 2009...My dad had friends and family down to watch Barcelona's Footballing Masterclass in a wonderful 2-0 win over Manchester United in the Champions League Final.During this time I mention the gig which Oasis would be playing at Murrayfield on 17th June 2009 everyone else (Who Knew that dad got tickets) had agreed and said 'Yeah Craig It'd be awesome' I'd missed out on tickets in October 2008 and was very upset especially after i'd heard that Kasabian AND The Enemy would be supporting!
So,The Next Day.28th May 2009 (My Birthday). My dad phones me from his room and asks me to come upstairs to receive my birthday gift.
I receive a card thinking it will have money in it.It had something better in it.It was a booking confirmation for tickets for the Murrayfield Gig!.It took me a few minutes for it to Register in my head,I was like to dad 'Are We...Going to see Oasis' he said 'Yes We Are,Son' I was Simply Amazed!
So..The Big Day came...June 17th 2009 :)
School had finally ended.Back home,Showered,Changed then we'd be heading to Murrayfield!.We stopped in at McDonalds for some food en route.I told dad about someone important in my Life (My Then Girlfriend),He was fine about it and that was the start of a great night.
So we finally get to Murrayfield.I pay £10 for a tour Programme which i wasn't best pleased about the price but the Programme itself was worth it.
I get into the Stadium and the Enemy are playing No Time For Tears. What a Moment!!!!!
Kasabian come on stage after the Enemy,What a set they did.Unbelievable,Although i think Tom Meighan was a bit more Mental than the crowd was but it all added to the occasion.Fire was unbelievably good :)
Then It Happend..OASIS Came on!..Rock And Roll Star!! What a moment,Then Lyla,Shock Of the Lightning,C&A,Roll With It,To be Where's There's Life,WFTR...THEN...
THE MASTERPLAN...What an incredibly special moment,When the Legend that is Mr Noel Gallagher said 'And This Next Song is called The Masterplan,Thank You Very Much' I was like 'THE MASTERPLAN YESSS' And my dad was like 'I've never heard this one before' and i was like 'Trust me dad,It's fucking awesome' and by the end of the song he was in love with it.
Lots of other special moments.Until the most special moment ever...
LIVE FOREVER!
That moment put my whole life into place. My life clicked. My Social life was briliant,I was seeing the best band ever,Singing the best song ever and i had an Awesome Girlfriend :).Such a special moment.
Little did i know at that time,It'd be the last time i'd see them.
So,What are your memories of Murrayfield?

Memories of Murrayfield
I remember impatiently wantin reverend and the makers off stage but then quite enjoying their set , The enemy were as i expected amazing - not everyones cup of tea but i enjoyed their set, Kasabian were immense but have to say it was slightly ruined during fire when the knob ends next to me started the much spoke about mass brawl - arseholes...anyway oasis were by far the best of the 4 gigs i have seen them, cigarettes and alcohol was superb but roll with it was amazing, place went mental, the masterplan was epic, slide away as brilliant despite Liam fogetting the words - My Big mouth was amazing, half the world away was a great singalong, Live forever was 'biblical'....to summarize...FUCKING BRILLIANT

Reverand and the Makers were very good.
The Enemy were very good, really got the place jumping.
Kasabian were good although I thought they were going through teh motions a bit and looked quite bored at times.
Oasis were very professional and went through their set at a great speed without too much banter inbetween.
All-in-all it was a good gig, but not the best Oasis gig I've been too. The time the played Murrayfield in 2000 was a much better gig, it was the week after they played the infamous Wembley shows and we are wondering what sort of state Liam woud be in and what kind of stuff him and Noel would ne throwing at each other.
Also that gig was on a Saturday so me and my mates made a weekend of it by staying in Edinburgh overnight whereas this gig was during the week so it was a case of drive down to Edinburgh and then back up the road straight after the gig.

What time did Reverend and the Makers come on at? I got into the stadium when the enemy had 2 songs left.

I had to drive down from Inverness after work and then go back again that night for work the next day but it was worth it. I missed the earlier bands, but got there in time to see Kasabian. I agree with Globe about them, they weren't at their best, but I loved seeing them and 'Fire' was enjoyable. I remember the sun shining and the folk around me being brilliant. (I saw the horrid fight - but from far enough away) I thought Oasis were pretty much perfect that night. Liam's voice was better than it had been and Noel was, of course, brilliant. It was a slick performance from them all. I loved DLBIA and Masterplan. A brilliant atmosphere afterwards too. The whole area round Murryfield was gridlocked and there was a lot of banter and stuff kicking off. We needed to get a bus out to where we'd parked our car and stood at a bus stop for over an hour but we had a laugh at the shenanigans going on around us. Got home around 3pm and went into work the next day, still singing! Happy times. ;D

I remember alot of people saying afterwards that Kasabian were better than Oasis on the night. I got there about 15 mins before Kasabain & they were shit hot, but not better than Oasis imo.

I recall my cousin texting me in the middle of the night, woke me up at 3am or something as i hadn't turned my phone off before going to bed. He'd been at Heaton Park. He said 'Craig,Kasabian arenae good live or anything, fuckin better than Oasis'. So i took that into account before Murrayfield. Kasabian were fuckin amazing, Better than TITP 2010 (Which i like to annoy my mates by saying!), Then Oasis came on. Opened with Rock N Roll Star!!! Fantastic.
Someone Invent a time machine and take me back to that night please?

OMG! Soon be TWO years I was speaking to one of my friends and i asked her when her last exam was and she said 'It's the 17th June,I'm so excited for it,It's gonna be amazing' to which i replied 'Aye, Fair Enough,Won't be as good as 17th June 2009, Oasis at Murrayfield and all that'. Another memory, I had to hand in a fieldwork report for a subject on the night of the gig, I'd totally forgotten about it, so i said to my teacher 'Err,Yeah,I'll try and get it in tomorrow' next day 'Craig,Have you got the fieldwork report' i said 'Errr,Nooo' Teacher wasn't best pleased he said 'Why Not' I said 'Well,i do have a good excuse' he said 'It better be good' I said 'Well I had a life experience last night, I saw Oasis'. Basically telling him that Oasis was more important than his poxy report and telling him to stick it. Got into shit for it but it was worth it.

The Dig Out Your Soul tour was nearly as bad as the DBTT tour, saw them twice at Sheffield and also at Bridlington and most of the fans that went didn't go through the experience of when Oasis ruled the world in the mid 90's to the early 00's cause they only looked under 20! I've seen Oasis on all tours apart from the Def Maybe one and when you experience the band live during them gigs then nothing even comes close to that. Sheffield FM Arena in 97 (sure Liam was pissed), Wembley Stadium 00 (when Liam was pissed) and LCCC 2002 were amazing times to be a young music fan attending gigs for the first time enjoying great support acts as well. Seeing Oasis for the first time in 2009 is just like me going to watch Deep Purple for the first time now.
