Saw these 4 boys from Wolverhampton supporting Ian Brown in Paradiso on Sunday and I really enjoyed them. Much better than I expected cos believe me...I've been to many gigs and I saw some AWFUL support act, a nightmare. The singer/guitarist of this band is a very talented front man. If you have a couple of minutes to spare, give them a listen. www.myspace.com/wearethelines

I watched The Lines the other week and i can say they are not your average new band. These guys are proper musicans. The singer is an amazing guitar player. The drummer and bass player are fantastic. At the end of the very last song the singer got on the dummer riser holding a pair of drum sticks and drummed along with the drummer (ala Ian Brown - Stone Roses era) These guys are brilliant. From Wolverhampton i believe. Album out this summer I would say infuleneces are The Who, Stone Roses and The Clash Great new band. I bet anyone they are on the cover of the NME by August this year!

I'm not trying to piss everyone off (although I surely will), but I don't understand what makes them any different to every single other new young "indie" band out there at the minute. I don't think they're shit, I just don't get why everyone's saying they're gonna be absolutely huge. I bet anyone they are on the cover of the NME by August this year! Oh yes, I'm sure they will be!

You're not pissing me off, Lifeonmelsmork. What I wanted to say and why I started this thread is that I just wanted to introduce this new band to anyone else on here cos I really liked their performance and music. I've never said they're gonna be huge although I wish them the best of luck. To me being a huge band doesn't always mean that they're the best band in the world. My most favourite bands since 2007 - Broken Records, The Twilight Sad, Frightened Rabbit, Mogwai and The National - Those bands are not huge, but brilliant. To me, they don't have to be huge as long as they keep create fantastic music.

FANTASTIC!!! now i have TWO albums to look forward to this year (l.a.g. and the lines ) stupid question though: looks like they are still unsigned, do you think their album will be readily available here in the states?
