So.... I checked out ITV2 last night because I wanted to see the gig, having listened to it and thinking it would be worth seeing - what with Liam being on fire and all that. I expected a slightly sanitised version, but what we got was ONE song - half the world away - which was brilliant btw - but c'mone ONE SONG A disgrace I was right there listenin with you Emmz & totally agree, 1 song was pretty poor. It seems they were showing just 1 song per band as standard. There is coverage tonight too though.. c'mon Liam!!

FFS do I have to continue spamming about Liam or will you lot respond to what's actually relevant? Or are you going to continue to complain about the price of Liam's shirts or the fact that ITV are a bunch of vaginas? Can we please talk about the gig itself rather than irrelevant nonsense? kthanx Because the gig sounded so good, I wanted to see it and was therefore extremely disappointed that ITV didn't show it. I thought as this was an Oasis forum I'd be allowed to vent my frustrations. Irrelevant Nonsense is it? Well thanks for that.

well its alrite for some and by the way 11 pound in hmv u can buy an oasis t shirt if making new friends is such a big thing for u Dont be a prick. If Liam released t shirts for 10 quid each people would moan theyre too cheap and everyone has one. If an Oasis fan comes up to me because of the t shirt and wants a chat about the tour/latest album i dont mind one bit. Got a whole host of t shirts from past tours, the Pretty Green t shirt I really do like and i'll probably get another one. Some of the latest tour t shirts have been great, not a fan of the ones with tour dates on the back though. The usual Oasis t shirt you get in HMV are pretty crap. No need for the stupid comments though mate. only havin a laugh mate if i could i would get one 2 and ur right the ones in HMV are pretty shit

This was a fantastic performance - Oasis got their balls back!
Liam was back to his Wembley 2000 form. The music seemed to be played faster and with more determination and bite than recently, like they were trying to prove something.
The drumming was propulsive, the guitars were cranked up.
Just shows that when they don't phone it in, they're the dog's bollocks.
Definately one for the Oasis time capsule.

I don't know you guys......while I agree with you that they sounded amazing all night, and Liam's voice was in top live-show form, there is just something dicsoncerting about seeing a 36 year old married-with-children man act like a 12 year old kid on stage. It might have been entertaining when Liam was in his 20s, but dude grow up already.
I know in the sound clips and the video clips it seemed cool, but standing down there in front of the stage it got old really quick.

Yeah he should really sit on a stool to sing now, and hopefully he'll start using words like 'pleasant' and 'agreeable' rather than swearing. And maybe he should just retire from the rocknroll game to stick to looking after the garden.

What next ? 36 year olds cant go out to the pub on a friday night as theyre too old ? Ridiculous comment. Hes been fine for most of the tour, if some idiot tries throwing his drink at him i'm glad Liams pissed off about it. Think you should start listening to a tree hugger like Chris Martin instead

lol I see I'm in the minority. All I'm saying is he got really pissed off about something that happens to everybody in the crowd at every oasis gig. The way he was acting was ridiculous and Noel's facial expressions all night were hilarious as he just laughed at him. I mean seriously, running around challenging people to a fight when you got loads of security in front of you isn't tough or "very rock n' roll" it's just plain stupid. It's easy to be a bad ass when you got a dozen bodyguards hanging around. One funny thing was when he told the "fat boy" behind me to come try to take his jacket off I was closer and louder when I yelled at him "I'll do it" and I didn't get a word back from him. Hadn't had a chance to listen to the broadcast to see if you can hear that or not lol.
Now if he actually jumped into the crowd and went after that dude that's a different thing altogether.
Noel doesn't do any of that shit and I don't hear you all saying how old and lame he is. Point being tough guys are tough not because they tell you so, they are tough because you know so already.

Imagine if everyone at an oasis show who got hit with a flying plastic beer cup got into a fight. Every show would be a constant brawl! Throwing beer around is just what a lot of idiots do at oasis shows. If you go you gotta learn to live with it.

Why was Liam so pissed off, anyway? Because right when they came on stage Liam threw a water bottle into the crowd, but he kind of aimed it like you would when throwing somethign to a friend. Right after someone tossed a beer cup back at him. it landed to his side and he got a little bit of splash on him just like everyone gets at an oasis show. He got really pissed off about that, then later he saw the Noel sign with the word God under it and got even more pissed off about that. Blew it way out of proportion in typical diva-type fashion and started cussing and spitting and stomping around, which only encouradged the 5 or 6 idiots in the crowd to keep it up. The first toss happened at about 0:55 seconds in my video below. Unfortunately I was aiming the camera at Noel when it hit the floor just behind Liam and you don't actually see it in the vid, but you do hear him start off with his "is that some little shitbag" line or whatever.

By the way, what is an acceptable age to stop acting like a little bitch? because as Liam was walking off for Waiting For The Rapture he threw his watter bottle blindly into the crowd and some of the water got on me. It really pissed me off and I wanted to cuss and challenge everyone in the place to a fight all night long.

I'm going to say this right now - whoever throw beer, and especially piss at gigs needs to be spotted by security and chucked the fuck out of the venue. Stop ruining it for everyone else. Please, tell me what is an acceptable age to act maturely at an Oasis gig and not throw piss? Some people at Oasis gigs are the equivilant to hooligans at a football game - they don't care about the live act, but rather just causing trouble. Security needs to intervene.
As for Liam? Sure, it may look petty but if people were throwing drinks and coins at you when you were trying to perform it would be a different story. Noel was able to laugh because he didn't seem to have been the target. But let us not forget that Noel, too, had his moments when he was in his 30s.
I've stated in this thread that the passion that brought out in Liam was amazing and that we need more of that in the future. Honestly, I don't want to see Liam act like that all the time but I do want that passion at every gig, and hopefully he can be as inspired to pull off such a blinding performance again but without getting angry. But hey, if getting angry is the only way he can get himself pumped up? Then so be it, it does the gig wonders. I was truly getting sick of seeing the boys go through the motions with the songs and staged rhetoric. That's not what Oasis are about, they're about passion and believing in their arrogant ways and rebellious songs about youth.
The only act that I'm aware of where Liam was completley in the wrong was circa 2006 when he was out to dinner with his son and a cameraman got in his way, so he punched him. A lot on here supported Liam for that, but that's wrong - you just don't do that when you're in front of your son who was just a mere infant. Bad parental influence at it's best.
Sadly, though, I think Liam let "Fat Boy" win by giving him all that attention - which is what the "student" was after, now he can go brag to his friends while wearing "tight jeans" and "pointy shoes" and say 'I got a rise out of Liam Gallagher!'.....Best way to show people up is to not say a word, ignore them, and give one hell of a performance.
But as far as the gig goes? It was the better for Liam's passion.
Ask yourself this: When was the last time we had the random Liam gibberish inbetween songs? You'd have to go as far back as 2000 or 2002 surely.

Whilst Liam was acting like a knob, it was an entertaining listen! His voice was on really good form, he was holding his notes longer.
Oasis concerts do attract a certain breed of cretin; basically lager lout bell-ends who go to one concert every couple of years (you guessed it - Oasis) and don't really have any idea of good concert etiquette!

Throwing beer around is just what a lot of idiots do at oasis shows. If you go you gotta learn to live with it. I dont take any of Liams antics seriously, the 'Liam-isms' are funny and are one of the many great things about seeing Oasis in concert. As for beer chucking i wish it was beer ! Sadly its not often the case. Getting covered with beer is one thing, covered by piss by some idiot is something totally different. But Noel looking moody and apologising for Liam is another usual part of the experience, Liam talking crap into the mic before everysong which most people dont understand is another. Liam getting upset by the slightest thing is another. In most interviews i've seen him in the last few years he seems a very calm bloke, I think half of it is put on during the concerts. But some idiot chucking something at Liam is just as cowardly

Throwing beer around is just what a lot of idiots do at oasis shows. If you go you gotta learn to live with it. There's a big difference between throwing beer/piss/pints at random audience people and at the artist. The stuff aimed at the artist is like a show of disrespect and no wonder they get offended by it. As for Liam throwing a water bottle dunno were you serious about it or not, I mean as an offense, but he's done that on tons of gigs now. The first thing he does is throw a bottle or two at the people in the front and if one has any sort of pair of two eyes one can see he's not throwing them out of malice. Also I'm bored of this "grow up, you're 36" stuff. You lot jealous or what? That someone dares/can act like they feel and not like people are expected to at their age.

meanstreak, i tend to agree with you but i think it is rather entertaining. but we all act a bit like 20 year old kids at an oasis gig, don't we ;D and to the beer throwing: allthough i'd never waste a drip of this by throwing it around, i couldn't care less what i smell like when standing in the pit in front of liam shouting the songs back at him (okay, piss is defenitely going to far!).

I'm telling you right now that if Liam sounded this good on a consistent basis from 2002-present, no one would have even ever brought up that his voice detiroriated, it's THAT strong here.
Furthermore, this performance beats the shit out of Wembley 2000, Liam's voice here in this 2009 itunes gig is so much better than the Familiar to Millions performance it's not even funny.
Whatever Liam did during this gig he needs to do it more often cos he's unbelievably good here. Oh, and this gig deserves an official DVD release, too, it's monumental.
