missed out the box set from the oasisinet store, was going to order it from amazon for £160 but decided to check the hmv site and there it was for £135 so got it from there, free delivery in the uk too.

I've got all the original pressings of the vinyl albums, apart from the masterplan which i'm still hoping to pick up, but i've never played any of them, i just have them for the collection. also have the majority of 7" and 12" singles from supersonic right up till the falling down AA mixes. i've got the dig out your soul super deluxe box set which has the bonus tracks on vinyl too. if your prepared to listen to the vinyl then yeah go for it some people swear the music sounds better on record then cd. |

i got my vinyl boxset today, just had a look through, the new exclusive sleeve notes are just a piece of 12" paper with a review of the album by some nme hack. didn't think it would arrive untill next week, i got a an email on tuesday saying hmv were sending it out but would take 5 days to arrive but nice suprise that i got it today.
oh and i got limited edition number 580.

so i guess around 10,000 were made? i see its only got 4 digits, so 9999 is really the last one.
not THAT super limited, one off, etc etc,
anything over 1000 isnt really limited.

Im fuckin torn on buying this boxset or not. Ive ALL the Lps on their original pressing. Aswell as most of the singles on both 12" & 7". Besides the lps coming in some fancy box, is there any changes to the actual vinyl discs? inner disc jackets? sleeves?

I feel you. I mean, you got MAAD4IT and i got MADFER1T on mines. that says something hahhaa... well i got it coz i thought it'd be super limited... its nice and all, nice little box though not as cool as the DOYS one.
each album is an exact replica with all original inserts, for example the HC vinyl has the booklet etc, while tthe WTSMG is the fold out one. each vinyl has the big brother logo as well as the 2009 date along with the older ones.
finally, they all come with a 12'' page with artwork on one side (artwork is pretty cool) and hamish mcsomething's review or somehing on the other. all in all its quite impressive, looks nice, but if i could buy the box only for a fiver i would.
oh and all vinyl is indeed heavyweight. all lp's come with 2, except SOTSOG and DBTT that are just 1.

hmv will cost yu about $240 including delivery.
check out play.com too, dunno about their shipping though.
edit - wow, play.com has it on sale for 113 pounds - thats 20 pounds less that amazon and hmv!

hahahaaha no - its not THAT bad (that "sticker" was fucking horrible,its still in the LP ithink.
the new artwork is the 8 12'' sheets, they got a review/letter on one side, and artwork on the other (the ones for DOYS and SOTSOG are posted - they're cool)
i can take a picture of the 8 inserts if you want.
oh, and the side of the LP is changed, so it all looks alligned and different color and all.
