My interest in DOYS has dropped greatly from the time of release til now, but these days I'm starting to like TBWTL more and more. The album version is great and usually goes unnoticed because everyone hates the second half of the album, and all of the remixes are pretty decent too. For me it's become one of my favorite tracks off the album, probably second to Falling Down.
What wins it for me though has to be the live version. The riff on the live one is simple, but does well to add more energy to the song. It's probably one of the best riffs they've done live or album wise as of late. The drumming is excellent, and the lyrics are simple enough for Liam not to hurt with his vocals. The outro is also killer and another one of my favorite bits on the track. been listening to live verions on my playlists a lot lately.
just wondering what everyone else thinks of the song?

I'm surprised people seem to be going off the album. Its the first Oasis album in years i just enjoy more and more.
The second half isnt that bad, i like the 'slow plodding' Soldier on. To be where theres life i liked from day 1, just sounds quite old skool as the songs quite basic, like a 2009 version of Columbia.
But i think its a great song , love the end of it when they play it live. The video above, love it when it kicks in at 4:38
Very good song

2nd favourite off DOYS? FUCK OFF
its nowhere near 2nd for me, more like 10th
i hate it when Liam is singing slower, reminds me too much of Who Feels Love, Liam sounds better when he sings quicker than that

i like the intensity of the live version, however the live guitars over-shadow the bass line quite a bit.... which for me is the hook of the tune.
definitely a good tune though.

It's one of the tunes from the album I classify as "alright", e.g.
Brilliant: Bag It Up, The Turning, The Shock Of The Lightning, Falling Down Good: I'm Outta Time, Waiting For The Rapture Alright: To Be Where There's Life, Soldier On Shit: Ain't Got Nothin', The Nature Of Reality, High Horse Lady

who can put it ahead of The Turning & Bag It Up & Falling Down & Shock of the Lightning if TBWTL is 2nd on anyones list, then there list is wank ...... each to their own I guess, but I personally didn't see what was so special about Turning, Bag it Up or Waiting for the rapture. They are all good songs in their own right but for me nothing to get excited about. TSOTL was just your average Oasis song.

The album version is more psycodelic... and the bit of "dig out your souuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuul" shivers down my spine every time I hear it... The live version is more powerfull... and the outtro remembers me a little the outro of champagne supernova on the be here now era... awesome

i like the studio version, but its definitely not one of the best for me, just because of the lack of guitars, it gets a bit boring without them, BUT the live version of this song is definitely one of my favorite songs they have been playing live this tour. The solo at the end is awesome

I was at that Wembley gig above, TBWTL is absolute class live, I love Andy's bass riff through it & Liams vocal.
I recorded it from Glasgow Secc if anyones interested, sorry about the visual but the sound quality is excellent! -

This album is just so completely loaded with great songs that it's easy to miss a gem like TBWTL.
I'm really starting to dig High Horse Lady, and even NOR isn't the complete pile of shit I first thought it was(but it's still close)
