that was probably one of the most boring and souless performances of that song I half expected him to give up after the first verse. Bit more effort, Noel, for fuck's sake.

You should make an official thread for this. I wonder what they're gonna play. A semi acoustic version of Rockin' Chair with Liam on vocals, or A full band version of All Around The World with an orchestra? (Yeah, I know, I really need to stop daydreaming ;D )

Today, I mean Osaka gig, Noel played 'Whatever' with Gem and Chris! Gem played harmonica on the middle of part, and Chris played tambourine!
And I also heard Noel played 'Whatever', 'The Turning' and 'My Big Mouth' at rehearsal!
Setlist was changed, 'Whatever' was just before 'The Importance Of Being Idle'.

Can't say i enjoyed that version too much. Too slow in my opinion. I've got a funny feeling they aren't gonna make major chancges for the summer you know.

Now Whatever is very famous song in Japan because the song is a tie-up of TV commercial message. So Noel sad before playing "This tune is very special, only japanese." Yesterday I went to the gig in Osaka and I heard Whatever too. Liam complained about a microphone, and throw into the mike to audience at end of the gig.

thank god Noel sang it, can you imagine Liam rasping Whatever these days? Actually, yes. A big, electric, key of G, Noel noodling on his Les Paul the whole time, fuck off version of Whatever, would liven up the set to no end.

It sounds like he felt like it too! This is from Noel's latest blog: "The gigs in Osaka were quite run-of-the-mill. Unenjoyably-run-of-the-mill."
