that thinks The Turning is nothing special?
Everybody seems to go on about how great The Turning is, but I just see it as an avarage Oasis song. Sure its good, but I would choose Bag It Up, Falling Down, TBWTL, Soldier On.... over it anytime.
Anyone else who dosen't get the hype of The Turning?

Not only The Turning is an average song, but the whole album is just an average album. The worst album they've ever made. (I still really love the lads btw)

To be honest, I wasn't overly thrilled about it myself when I first heard it. But it did grow on me, and I now consider it one of the best songs on Dig Out Your Soul. I especially love the "...be the fallen angel by my side". Just give it some time, and I think you'll soon start to enjoy it yourself

It's average for an Oasis song. Dig Out Your Soul as an album is pretty dull tbh, I don't get why you'd want to make an album with no clear singles on it. Oasis singles are usually great, so I don't get why they would like to make an album with no great songs on it.

its alright. i think i'd be good live, its nice in between bag it up and WFTR.
its obviously not the anthem everyone makes it out to be.

It's average but because of the paucity of decent material on the album it's one of the better tracks. By no means a classic though.

I think it's great personally, one of the highlights of DOYS. If you think it's bad then I would hate to know what you think about TNOR, SO and AGN.

I'm still loving it. I still proclaim it's the best on the album. And furthermore still believe it's the best Oasis song since the mid 90s and could easily fit on any of the first 3 albums. Now that that's sorted, bring on the next topic

I really like the Turning, especially the solo and the following chorus.

I dig it. Its the first oasis song this decade that has that old oasis electricity to it.

Give people some time and I think they will change their minds about DOYS like they did for DBTT i.e. positive to negative.

I'm not super keen on the Turning, the chorus is good but not keen on the build up. Still a decent song and not a complete throwaway

DBTT was very good but i loved the new direction of DOYS. DBTT was a welcome return to form but found a fair few songs on the album dull.

Agreed. I loved DBTT, and still do, but DOYS is so much more vibrant and exciting. DM, WTSMG, BHN/DOYS, DBTT, SOTSOG, HC

I think the turning's a pretty good song. Nothing spectactular, but a good song. Here's how I would rank Oasis' albums
1. tie- DM, WTSMG 10/10, 3. Be Here Now- 9.5/10, 4. STG- 9/10, 5. DBTT- 8.5/10, 6. Dig Out Your Soul- 8/10, 7. HC- 7/10
I think DOYS is a decent album but nothing special, especially for Oasis. If they did the following I think it would be a great album: Took out GOYHHL and replaced it with Boy With The Blues. Added I Believe In All and took out Soldier on. Made TBWTL more lke the live version with real guitars. Made the solo on Nature Of Reality much longer.
