Does anyone else think Falling Down sounds really flat live? I realise that it's heavily produced on the album, but so is TSOTL and that sounds ace live.
I dunno what it is; maybe its Noels vocals, or maybe it's too quiet live. I just remember being really bored by it.

It was brilliant in the clip I saw of their show at Wembley stadium. But it was below par during the entire U.S. tour in my opinion.

I prefer the live version over the album one to be honest

its ok live Chris does a great job but thing is, is that there is like a effect on Noel's voice is like a whisper on the album and it sounds awesome but it comes across kinda weak live cos the vocals are so low with all those guitars and those pounding drums

you're rubbish
now it's debatable whether it deserves encore status, but it's certainly good live as long as Noel doesn't whisper

It's ok live but definitely does not belong in the encore with those other three songs.

I thought the music by itself was fantastic, but you can't hear Noel. If he could belt it out Liam-style I bet it'd be perfection.

It takes Noel at least a year to work out how to sing live songs properly.
Case and point: TIOBI....Noel had the exact same problem with TIOBI in 2006 as he would sing that song way too softly, now it sounds mega.
He's also improved his singing of DLBIA and Slide Away (when he does that one) as the years have gone on.
Give it until the next tour, and I'm sure Noel would have worked out how to sound mega on FD

Do like the song a ton but i dont know, weird hearing it at a concert. Not one you jump up and down to or sway with the crowd, just a 'standing there tapping your foot' kinda song.

I wouldn't say it was rubbish but it doesn't sound as good as the album version. I think it needs to be given the acoustic treatment, not full on Don't Look Back In Anger style, keep everything else the same but just lose the electric guitar as rhythm.

They play it very well live, but unfortunatly Noels vocals just aren't powerful enough to complete it. I reckon it would be superb performed on acoustic guitars ala the Stop The Clocks tour complete with bass, drums and an orchestra.

the fact that is falls in the encore does not help either. It kind of gets over shawdowed by DLBIA and CS etc. They should move it up to repalce songbird and of course drop live forever in its slot. Just saying...

I think the instrumental part sounds mega live... chris' drumming is pretty cool in the intro... but Noel hasen't been able to sound as good as he sound in the studio version of that song... it's one of his best vocals IMO, but live he sound a little off, I don't know... still love to hear it live though

I think it sounds great live. At MSG after the huge performance of DLBIA it was cool to have the lights lowered and that booming drum part that starts it off...I really enjoy it.
I mean it doesn't have the same feel as it does on the album, but to go as far as calling it rubbish is a bit much IMO.

The whole song except for the drums are demo quality... But yea you're right, Falling Down does lose a little something live IMO

Not everyone has got to have the same opinions, dude. -- Well, I honestly cannot remember Falling Down from the Oakland gig, I was too caught up with Don't Look Back In anger.

I don't mind the live version of Falling Down but for me it's on the same level of the the Masterplan.
I love both songs when it comes to listening to them on albums, but just don't do anything for me when it comes to hearing them at a gig. It would be better used at an acoustic set.

Then disagree with it! lol I do stand by that, though. Give TIOBI a listen on the Manchester 2005 gig, you can barley hear him: Now listen to him at the Proms in 2008, much much better: My point, Noel learns quickly what he has to do to adjust; give him until next tour for the one. So yes, I agree, Noel sings too softly on FD live currently and the band are mega on it otherwise, but I do think Noel will get it right. You all are also right that it shouldn't be in the encore. I agree, drop one of MOS/AGN, replace it with FD and then add Live Forever to the encore.....

Is it just me or does the act of responding (in a gushing manner, no less) to ones own quote make the rest of us obsolete. You know, years ago, when I only had the Beatles greatest hits, was still getting my head around the kinks, had been to just one oasis concert, and was still trying to convince the world I was a Brit in an American body, I would never of had the audacity to go on the most popular oasis site on the net and pontificate endlessly. I would've been lucid enough to recognize that other L4E L4E Members of the forum probably weren't all that interested in my constant rehash of the same topics. I wouldn't have been arrogant enough to assume that my opinions should be regarded as fact or that getting an A- on a paper proved beyond reproach that my pompous behaviour should be applauded. You are an articulate guy. But not half as smart as you think you are. And it often feels like your endless stream of drivel drowns some of the interesting points you are trying to make. To bring it down for us simple folk, buddy you talk a lot of shit. and your shit, whether you like it or not, stinks as much as the next guys.
