Ryan Adam fans that went to Oakland have been some of the strangest people I've seen.
They went on and a bunch of girls started dancing their way up front. (zen-hippie style) They were sent back by the bouncers about 6 times and they still kept going. As soon as the final song started, they swiped out their lighters and smoke filled the air.
God, I hated Ryan Adams, I cannot imagine dancing to that. The majority of them also left right after he was done. Come one, leaving before Oasis comes on?!

Any great RA album recomendetion? it depends Adams has changed styles quite a bit. Heartbreaker is brilliant if you want what RA is all about. Gold is perfect if your into pop kinda stuff like pop/rock with some country thrown in there. Cold Roses and Jacksonville City Nights are both countryish like Heartbreak. 29 is more somber and quite quite relaxing. Easy Tiger and his newest release are probably some of his most focused works. But to stop the rambling I would try to do heartbreak first or maybe Gold.

Start with Gold & Cardinology, then easy tiger & heartbreaker.

Ryan Adams makes good music at times but I would never go see him live. I have heard so many stories from people who have been to his shows and said it was a complete waste of money. exactly the same thing gets repeatedly said about another band both of us know... i'm not a maniac fan of his music but some of adam's songs are simply great. and i think he's important to the music scene as well.

Any great RA album recomendetion? i am a huge RA fan, but his recent was has been wayward to say the least. Steer clear of cardinology or easy tiger. Start with Gold, then go for Love is hell (its a masterpiece), then heartbreaker. Cold roses, 29 and demolition are all excelent too.

all i know is that my friend who is an RA fan is a complete lunatic about him. Reads his blog everyday, paid money to get the books he wrote signed, obsessive....I liked the set in Las Vegas, thought the Cardinals themselves were quite old looking. I think RA is a little obsessive though in his output and his blog. Seems like an egomanic.
