I;m just wondering why you dont think most or all of the first 8 tracks (minus High Horse) are not good?
Out of these tracks, can you pick the ones you dislike and tell us why?
Bag It Up The Turning Waiting for the Rapture Shock of the Lightning I'm Outta Time Falling Down To Be Where There's Life
Just want to hear your opinion, because I personally feel those 7 tracks are Oasis at their best

I am going to refrain from a hardcore review because I am still pondering it.
However, I haven't got a problem with any of the first 5 tracks. They are all amazing. If DOYS was an EP composed of those 5 tracks it'd be better than the Magical Mystery Tour.
That being said, it is virtually everything else that I'm not getting.
High Horse Lady - the worts Oasis song of all time. I'm sorry Noel; I'm sorry Live4ever Forum. Had to say it. Falling Down - I don't get all the hoopla surrounding this tune. It's nice, but produced to the max TBWTL - I really enjoy it, but it's a bit underwhelming for psychadelia. It tried a bit too hard AIN'T GOT NOTHING Nature of Reality - GAHHHH 2nd worst Oasis song of all time. That riff drives me up the walls. SOLDIER ON
Now, both of those songs there I left blank for a reason. It's because I really dig them and I think they are well done. They are the two songs that have grown on me most. Liam did a fantastic job and has proven to me that he is still an almost flawless songwriter.

I have to agree with you on High Horse Lady. I don't mind the tune, but the production makes me wanna die. I really dig the rest of the album though.

High Horse Lady is ghastly. Lyrics are some of Noels worst and to me, it doesn't fit in at all on DOYS.... or any album. Noel should have left this one in the vault, locked the vault and thrown the key into a sewer.

High Horse is amazing. All my friends who listen to Oasis casually say its their favourite of the new album.

Bag It Up- No complaints The Turning- No Complaints Waiting for the Rapture- Chorus ruins the stomp and flow of the verse Shock of the Lightning- No complaints, fucking ace I'm Outta Time- Only one verse then complete repitition, it doesn't go anywhere Falling Down- No complaints To Be Where There's Life- Liam sounds like he's struggling to reach the notes and is just shouting to get them...
I have mixed feelings about this album, I really want to like it.
But its the other tracks that you didnt mention that are really disappointing. I just like Dont Believe the Truth better as an album

I don't really like the production on GOYHHL. That stupid sound at 48 seconds or so, the wood block hit. Ugh. And I'm not too fond of the filter on Noel's voice. I thought that lady with the wings and her bandmate, during the promotion, did a great cover. The song, IMO, should have been more stripped down, with an emphasis on the harmonies. As for the other songs, I think they're good, but they just don't compare to the groups best.

High Horse Lady - the worts Oasis song of all time. I'm sorry Noel; I'm sorry Live4ever Forum. Had to say it. I like it. It's nowhere near as bad as: The Quiet Ones Little James A Quick Peep Sitting Here In Silence or (and these are not as bad as the above, but still below par): Thank Your For The Good Times (I Got) The Fever - I know some like this, but it's just noisy shit My Sister Lover - ditto

I've always enjoyed High Horse and the people who say that Ain't Got Nothing is better just baffle me. I think people don't realize that Noel's vocals on High Horse sound as they do on purpose, not because of bad production. The sound of High Horse is something fresh and I love it when it starts really thumping after 1:35.
If you're someone who is going to nitpick about lyrics then your probably shouldn't be listening to Oasis.

the second half of the album seems less focused,
the songs are about the quality of HC or SOTSOG era weaker tracks and B-Sides (think force of nature)
not horrible songs but nowhere near the quality of the singles or good tracks of that era (hindu times, roll it over, idler's dream)
the flow of the album is not as good near the end and the structure of the songs seems contrived or not thought out.

It's needs to be played on a proper stereo though cos the production is half of it.

I like "High Horse Lady." Nothin special, but it's got a cool feel to it. Like "A Quick Peep" a little less, but like it for the same reason, even though the name is pretty queer. "Quiet Ones" and "Sitting Here in Silence" are unlistenable. The only Oasis songs I can say I thoroughly dislike.

High Horse Lady - the worts Oasis song of all time. I'm sorry Noel; I'm sorry Live4ever Forum. Had to say it. The Quiet Ones Little James A Quick Peep Sitting Here In Silence Thank Your For The Good Times (I Got) The Fever Good lord, sir!!! Little James - FUCKING HELL why does everyone hate this? Fits SOTSOG beautifully, and for Liam's first tune it's great! Love the production and the lyrics don't need to be so badly scrutinised. A Quick Peep - great little interlude on HC - refer to the info below my avatar!! Thank You For The Good Times - man, what a nice tune. I love it - it's got a rock edge but is still quite a nice melody and everything. Good lyrics and was my MSN name for a loooong time. I really want to like it. I'm in the exact same boat as you, sir!! Some good tunes, but the worst Oasis ALBUM hands down. As I said in my earlier post - if it were just the first 5 tracks it'd be amazing. But there is too much on it that's pretty much just garbage, or stuff that isn't particularly strong.......

I'm going to chime in with my take. And it's probably better than yours.
Bag It Up - Fine. Not great. But good. Really catchy "Someone tell me I'm dreaming..." etc
The Turning - Perfect song. More please. Oasis's best song since SCYHO.
Waiting For The Rapture - Should've been the demo version. But still very good. I wish he used the final chorus (where he goes down an octave in "Im wi-i-red") in all the choruses. I'd still have preferred "If There's a God".
TSOTL - Perfect. More please. Only slightly bad thing is that....perhaps chorus could've been bigger. But whatevs, I dig it.
I'm Outta Time - Good work Liam. Just needs another verse.
Falling Down - Perfect. Wish the chorus was more melodic/catchy. Verse is out of this world good.
TBWTL - Great song. Rubbish after about 4-5 listens.
Oh and High Horse Lady......I knew from the moment I heard Dagmar perform it.....that it had surpassed Little James or The Quiet Ones as the shittest song ever recorded by Oasis. I mean....Bonehead's bank holiday shits on it. Take me shits on it. Fuck man....its sooo unbelievably shithouse. All you guys who say its "amazing" are the reason why Sex on Fire made any money. Easily impressed with mediocrity.
In essence, DOYS shouldve looked like this:
Bag It Up The Turning Waiting For The Rapture / If There's A God The Shock of The Lightning I'm Outta Time I Want to Live in A Dream (In My Record Machine) Falling Down To Be Where There's Life Come On, It's Alright Nature of Reality (fucking rubbish. this is the end of Andy's contributions) Soldier On

I cannot fathom how someone can hate HHL by saying it's the worst ever when there have been far worse in their catalogue. Little James is the biggest pile of dung Oasis have ever released.

I read it. Beyond that, I also replied above.
HH is terrible. Little James at least has great melody, and a Quick Peep has a lot of energy.
The Quiet Ones and Sitting Here In Silence aren't very good, but they certainly aren't as terrible as High Horse
