Anyone who calls Oasis 'washed up' should see this post. Are you kidding me! 500,00 tickets in that short amount of time!

Yeah it is ridiculous! How many hours did it take? Also I feel like if they release it so late they should have aimed around mid December for the #1 Christmas single.

Laughable to think some people have called Oasis irrelevant. I'd love to see a relevant band sell 500k tickets in less then a day. Gotta be one of the biggest tours of the decade?

I wonder what b-side will be on single. The new song would be fantastic but I am really afraid they will choose another song from DOYS bonus cd. It looks like they are inspired by Radiohead who did the similar thing with singles from In Rainbows album.

Maybe the single doing great in the US and help to sell out the tour!!!

yeah, it will probably have some of the tracks from the bonus disc as a b-side, so no big deal here...it would be awesome if they put a new tune on it, like come on its allright, but its hard to believe
im curious about the videoclip though....from what ive read, it seems to be a little bit like importance of being idle, kind of a little movie..

It'll still be a bit Christmasy on December the 1st, I am happy with that release date. It will be a slow week for singles in the UK as most cheesy pop acts will be clambering for Xmas number 1, I think the only compitition is from Will Young & Slip Knot in the same week!
Gotta be Number 1 though, as should have TSOTL

It won't go to #1 unless it has some new b-sides, FACT. If its released with songs from the bonus disc as b-sides, I can't see it cracking the top ten to be honest.

Its great Oasis sell so many tickets but its disappointing how few people seem to buy the single or even the album. One week at number 1 in the album charts and now its dropping down like anything. As others have said i was stunned at the last gig i went to when so many people didnt seem to know the new songs. Presume theres a hardcore of fans who will have the album the second it comes out and a fair few who just go and see Oasis for the event but arent bothered by album/singles etc ?

I think your wrong cloudburster, there is alot of people out there who wont care about the B-sides & just buy the single based on it being a top tune. There might even be the odd teenager who doesnt care about Oasis, but likes the song.
I think you are thinking about it from a fans pov & that's cool. There will be no new B-sides but it should still be number 1 - Fact!

I am gutted by the lack of b sides so far on the first single (and i presume the second). I'll buy the single anyway as its a great tune, want it to get to number 1 and i've got all the others. But i used to love getting the cd singles for the b sides so from a hardcore Oasis fan i'm quite gutted.

There was infact one great b-side that would be new to you if you hadn't downloaded it illegally. and the one b-side alone is surely better than Don't Look Back In Anger (live) and Sitting Here In Silence. No?

Ha ha good point. I wouldnt have downloaded those b sides illegally if they released a special deluxe boxed set at a decent price. I dont have a record player so the records are a complete waste, if that was 25 quid i would have bought it but 50 was taking the mick. I dont feel bad for that in the slightest, bought all their albums/singles/10+ concerts. But felt like the 50 quid deluxe set was a rip off.
Sitting here in silence i didnt mind as it was a brand new b side. You know what i mean though, for many of the cd singles there was a brand new song or two on them
