Read an article in the Evening Standard on friday and it said Oasis are to play 6 songs with the choir at this years Electric Proms, it said some head members of the choir had met with Noel & Gem last week to discuss which songs are to be played with them. It says "They thrashed out ideas for taking old favourites such as Don't Look Back In Anger & The Masterplan to new heights of singalong elation". "Also planned are a couple of compositions by Liam, presumably including I'm Outta Time, most excitingly they'll sing on an overpowering climax of I Am The Walrus. So now we know a couple of songs due to be played what will the others be? are they gonna stick with the same boring setlist from the Tour or are they gonna mix it up a bit and are they gonna pull they're fucking fingers out play Bag It Up &/or The Turning? here's the article:

Wow it's gonna be fuckin awesome hearing IATW with a 50 piece chorus. As for them playing The Turning we already heard the recording with a choir. Now a version of soldier on would be interesting.

Well, I only meant the album version of the Turning not an actual live version of it. I should have been more specific.

I smell that they're going to do the same setlist. Hope they give us some little special thing. By the way, it'll cool and special no matter what (and they're broadcasting it live on an italian radio too).

They'll probably stick to the setlist, maybe one new song....
Since the choir is going to be used at the end i'd say they go in IATW, CS (just imagining the naaaaa na's during the solo, like the studio version), FD (they probably do something during the chorus), IOT and AGN (the couple of Liam tunes) and the last one I'm not sure, REALLY hoping for The Turning, it would be a shame if they didn't play it, but I've gotta say, i wouldn't be surprised...

well, my best educated guess would be something like:
1. I Am the Walrus (if the article is indeed correct) 2. Im Outta Time (think this ones kind of a given) 3. The Masterplan 4. Wonderwall or Champagne Supernova (cant see em doing both... but Im guessing theyll do one of em) 5. Falling Down or Waiting for the Rapture (seems like Noel would want to do one of his DOYS songs, and not sure how TSOTL would work out) 6. Meaning of Soul, Songbird, or Aint Got Nothing (2nd Liam song they were talking about)
the article mentions DLBIA... but I couldnt see Noel doing that unless it was the electric version....

PLEASE tell me there will be a soundboard of this/. Yes, it's due to be aired on BBC and on radio so someone here should have the audio and video recorded.

BOY WITH THE BLUES.... Is my bet... you heard it here 1st! Id love to see it... but I doubt they'll add any new songs to the setlist. They'll just take 6 songs from the current setlist and add a choir. It'll be cool, but dont get your hopes up for a different setlist

fuck all mate, jus makes sense with the choir. From noel's interview in timeout said that a few liam's songs would get a look in...
The other obvious ones would be masterplan n whatever n i am the walrus with strings, but they seem 2b tryin 2keepin things fresh. Hopefully they should look at this gig differently n mix things up a bit, treat it as mtv unplugged mk2

The article mentions that they WOULDN'T be doing DLBIA or Masterplan, cos' it was to obvious or something... perhaps that goes to Wonderwall too..... anyway i reckon Boy With The Blues would fit perfectly, they could also do the "ahhhhh" during the chorus that would be great... but then again, they probably won't throw anything new....

i still think they should do a tour where it's just them playing with mtv unplugged's arrangements of these songs. put some new arrangements in there and that would be brilliant.
never gonna happen, but man, wouldn't that be something?

They have been rehearsing "We Love You" by The Rolling Stones for the Proms that would sit well with a choir.

I've just checked the planner on sky and it's on BBC2 at 11:10pm until 12:10am so I'm assuming that this is a highlights programme. It says on the synopsis "Edith Bowman presents the finale of the Electric Proms 2008. Noel & Liam promise a night of Oasis anthems plus songs from their new album, with accompainment by the Crouch End Festival Chorus". On the BBC website it says artists can be watched live interactively so one way or another we'll be able to watch it and I'm not being funny but this is Oasis we're talking about the fucking Headline act so I will be shocked if the full show isn't shown.
