My guess is Oasis does better in many parts of Canada than Ohio. Obviously, there's more people in Canada than Ohio. That's not the point, they have a bigger following and more fans by percentage, easily...

LOL canada - I've said all I need to, stupid comments deserve equally off-topic responses. But let's get back on track.
I just looked up the history of Oasis album charting in Canada. So yes, they DO care.
DM - did not chart (US #58) but achieved platinum (WTS)MG - did not chart (US #4) but achieved 8x platinum BHN - #1 (US #2) SOTSOG - #8 (US #24) HC - #5 (US #24) DBTT - #3 (US #12) DOYS - TBA (US #5)
I bet with this history we will see a top 3 in Canada, gotta wait for the numbers.
So, Canada does very well for Oasis... they've been top 10 here since BHN, and amazing that WTSMG didn't even chart and sold 400,000 copies (a nice number for our population).
Morning Glory charted at #4 at US and achieved 4x platinum**, which is 4 million units on their scale. At an approximate population of 305 million, 1.311 % of America bought it while Canada achieved 8x platinum* which is 400,000 units. At an approximate population of 33 million, 1.21% of Canada bought it, which is pretty damn close. I ran the same numbers for DM, and the percentage is similar between the US and Canada, so we are easily right up there considering the difference in population. Our national record charts take some digging to find, and there isn't as much of an emphasis on them here as there is down in the US.
*Platinum in Canada = 100,000 units & Gold = 50,000 **Platinum in US = 1,000,000 & Gold 500,000

They played atleast 5 gigs in Canada before the tour, at about 10,000 people a gig, if everyone bought an album, they already sold 50,000
But then again, I just made those numbers up

haha that was funny gas panic. You have to account for all the cheap bastards who get everything for free online these days.I reckon they'll be in the top 3 for sure, they have a good following up here but that doesn't translate into record sales all the time
