I saw the very end on TV last night. Fucking tossers. Bet if it had Radiohead on the front cover it would be the greatest thing since The Beatles

You're surprised? John Harris spends 300 pages laying into Oasis in his book about the "death" of Britpop, piece of shit book, in which Blur are lauded to high heaven, I haven't bought it just read a bit in the bookshop. Harris can go suck a fucking dick (probably Morley's) and like it.
Don't slag Germane though, she's great, the senile old vagina.

He's an expert on a dead genre that everyone (including the bands that were considered brit pop) shits on. Plus he writes for the Guardian which, I'm pretty sure, has a prerequirement that you have to hate anything by Oasis post 1996.

That was just a slating match by some old fuckers on newsnight.. I still dont understand how people can say OMG ITS THE SAME AS BEFORE .. well no shit its the same band, if they changed there tone ppl would be like "omfg there trying to expand and its not working for them" but its like "omg there the same step out a bit" man i fucking love all the albums so far inc DOYS yes its the SAME "old" oasis but thats why i like it.. because its oasis styled tracks with some different melodies and different feels to it.. i dont see how that is bad in any fucking way!?

Can I just go in to bat for John Harris? The Last Party is my favourite book on musicology. And I have read a few (because Im lonely). It what got me itno Oasis, Blur, Suede, Elastica and all that. I wish more writers would write about the Gallaghers exploits in that same sardonic wit. Agreed though that he is slightly biased against Oasis post 1996, but surely Heathen Chemistry deserves a bashing? Atleast he stands up for Shakermaker, a song that is sorely overlooked on this forum in my opinion. Also on Oasis development, for fuck sakes they are not a prog band! At least they arnt like ACDC (who still rock nevertheless). I mean look at The Who and Led Zeppelin, they seldom developed there sound (and when they did it SUCKED). ITS ROCK AND ROLL PEOPLE, NOT A SCIENCE MAJOR! This rant was bought to you by excessive mental trauma.

You can if you like. I'd like to take a bat to this smug douche, in my opinion he's an elitist fuck.
I've thought about buying it but after reading a few pages it would really piss me off to read how Blur's albums since Morning Glory are amazing and Oasis's are terrible for hundreds of pages.
I've no argument with saying that HC is awful, it is and obviously the best Blur songs are better than the worst Oasis albums/songs. Parklife (the album) is a better listen than HC, but it's obvious Harris is closed-minded to anything post-Morning Glory.
Albarn's post-Blur work is unmitigated shite (an opera about Monkey, what the fuck?)
Like Oasis, Elastica produced such egregious rip-offs, in their case 70's post-punk, they were sued by the Stranglers and Wire, but because they didn't receive the huge sales of Oasis their musical borrowings get a free pass from critics. If Oasis had stayed at the same level of success as Elastica the music papers would still love everything they did.

germaine greer she is full of her own importance she couldnt even handle a few weeks in big brother house (where all you need to do is sit and drink tea etc)costing poor mccririck 10k (he bet on himself he would be first out)
again though old ass journos debating how it sounds like beatles and finding little bits that sound similar possibly sour grapes that instead of havin it all they are sitting on a couch with an old bat who disses men at every opportunity and thinking "wow we agree with her we must be intelectual too"
go eat your branston pickle it fucking stinks (it was made in my hometown of peterhead before the cross and blackwells factory closed down and used to stink out the whole town centre on hot days)
buy keane or snow patrol i dont give a fuck
do you think anyone who are guests on newsnight are the people that influence me ? maybe you went to posh school and got a nice tie and a fancy handshake to get you out of trouble from the local constable but my musical decisions is made by 2 things (my ears incase anyone never worked it out)
go phone maggie tell her its the 80s again the deluded old cow
sorry people but that pissed me off big time and had to get it off my chest
rant over

Lmao. Who cares? I doubt the boys make there music in the hopes it appeals to the likes of people on newsnight. Same way I doubt radiohead are worried when dudes like Liam don't get what there doing.
There into other shit. Leave them have there opinion. Means nothing at the end of the day.
