I remember you. I first signed up a little before DBTT and you seemed to be in every thread, lol.
Anyways, Have you heard the album yet? I wasn't too big on the single either. But the album is really good. I'd give it a shot if you haven't heard it yet and give it a few listens. It's much better than DBTT and I enjoy that album. To each his own I guess . . .

Kalas, how the devil are ya my friend? kingofleon going under a new name now Sad that you're not into the album, bit of an over-reaction though surely? Seem to remember you being well into DBTT (having a sneaky listen before anyone else ;D ), they can't suddenly turn into a 'characture' over the course of one album surely? Anyway good to see you around mate.

I'm just saying that if you haven't heard the album yet, don't base anything off the single. I thought the single was ok, but nothing mind-blowing. But the rest of the album is strong. My only beef is Ain't Got Nothin and Soldier On. AGN should not have been put on and SO is a decent track, but they should have picked a better closer for the album . . .

its an awsome album..............everyone has their opinion
but i think you need to broaden your horizons
oasis are still great, this is def their best album since BHN and even with liams songs, we're getting something fresh from Noel, his writing is more like DM & MG on this album...........so i would have thought you'd like it

KALAS it's good to see that you're back...I haven't spoken to see you since the get-together @ Mustang's. Frankly, i'm surprised you have yet to hear the album...normally you are one of the first...regardless, I think you will like some of the tunes...

kalas, i remember you from back in the day. If it helps, this album's been a definite grower for me. I'm sure you've heard the single enough to know it's not doing it for ya but Waiting For The Rapture is fantastic to me! But fair game. You're a true fan so you're entitled to your opinions.

It's been out for ages... and buying the album on the 14th? why? it's already out... Anyway if you've just heard the single for the first time if it makes you feel any better I didn't like it myself.. now however I love it... it's a grower. Having said that it's the most "oasis by the numbers" type song on the album, the rest are an amazing step forward..

TSOTL is the most "Oasis" song on the album. Its one of their best songs of the last 8 years. I know you liked Lyla and this pisses all over that song. BTW what shows did you buy tickets for that you were going to go to this month? Why are you waiting a week after release date to buy the album?

first of all i am so sick to death hearing this 'oasis by the numbers' phrase... what the fuck is that suppose to mean anyway? ?? kalas: chin-up mate, , i lurked round these parts for quit some time so i know for a fact that you have been a loyal fan for many many years.. but you have to realise that musically oasis are in a different place now... yes it is a diff sound but try to let go of the dm/mg/bhn expectations and open yourself up to the new sound... i waited until the record came out to listen to it, , and from all previous reviews i knew that it would sound different from anything they have done before, so with that i prepared myself to open up to it... look at falling down and high horse... yes they are so very different from anything else previous but in my opinion they are two of the best songs they have realeased in the past 7-8 years. i know i Am rambling but before i close look at u2 during the zooropa and popmart rubbish... they changed their sound so much in those days but eventually returned to more of their conventional rocknroll sound... i know many on here think that u2 is rubbish but after all the experimentation they are still considered to be one of the biggest bands in the world... and hey what about the beatles? so i guess what i am sayin is keep on keeping on, they may eventually return to the dm/mg sound ,, but at the end of the day its still oasis and its still rockn roll, go to the gigs, gets pissed and enjoy yerself! sorry for such a long long posting, i am pissed off my tits right now and will signing off for good goodnight all

from what i've heard DOYS has had many different opinions..some of my friends who are casual oasis fans (who were at the last msg and philly gigs with me) have said alright but not great.. first listen through i wasn't excited but with more listens it does get better..with rock the way it is these days it can only improve..
kalas, rangers are looking good with a 3-0 start

I think the single is the dullest thing on the record by a long chalk (no surprise it didn't make no.1). Boring and predictable. Album is great, though.

I'm not a big fan of the single either.
I think its good, but that weird indie rock guitar makes me want to change for the next track.
I think its the weakest lead single since be here now...go let it out, the hindu times and lyla were better, in my opinion...but for my surprise, my girlfriend loves it, and i met a friend thats not an oasis fan who loved it.
Anyway, this album is great. The best one since Be Here Now, for sure.
