the last two albums are outstanding... nuanced, different from the early days (as they should be), and balanced. how boring would it be if they kept trying to remake the first two albums? every member bring their own elements to the sound, and the sound you hear now is the sound of oasis with gem & andy... they were really searching on SOTSOG and HC, and i don't love either of those albums... fairly weak really. DBTT and DOYS are fucking amazing.
dave mason (formerly of traffic) is a cock... if that's who you're named after. he's shit.

I don't know what to say. I bought the DOYS deluxe package and the more I listen to it, the more I dislike it. It just seems like Noel has stopped giving a crap and the Oasis magic is gone. They've become a bad imitation of their old self. I can just imagine Noel and the band sitting down and saying "ok, lets make an album that sounds like The Beatles Revolver." I mean borrowing from other bands is ok, but when your songs sound like 3rd rate Beatles songs, it's time to throw in the towel. Just listen to the first 3 albums. They may borrow, but the music sounds original and fresh. This album has no guitar solos, Liam and Gem might as well join a Beatles cover band, and Noel doesn't even care anymore. I'm extremely disappointed and this is the last time I'm gonna get my hopes up for a new Oasis cd. Noel has become a lazy rock star. He just makes an album every 3 years so he can make millions touring. It's a crime that Liam is allowed to write songs for Oasis. He's horrible. Anyone else feel like Oasis has lost it?

I feel sorry for you. You can't grasp the fact that is the best oasis ALBUM. To be honest I'm so fuckin sick of the beatle bashing with oasis....ain't it funny that spoon, aimee mann, neil finn, supergrass et al are never tarred with the same brush. If you can't give a record more of a chance than the perfunctory 2 or 3 listens then i feel sorry that you're unable to absorb the rock and roll music....you may as well add your copy of dig out your soul to the pile of pink and keane records that you'll forget about next week (forgive me for making assumptions as to your taste in music). I agree that don't believe the truth had its flat spots but dig out your soul sounds like a band at the height of confidence and making the most of living the dream of recording in studio 2 at abbey road. It's the most coherent oasis record to date (yes, even more so than the first two). I don't know what to say. I bought the DOYS deluxe package and the more I listen to it, the more I dislike it. Noel definately has not lost his magic. if u take all of Noel's songs from the past 4 albums youll see they are the best tracks off each album.

Both very dull albuks saved by a couple of Noel songs. Put STC and RM on DOYS and it's 10x better already. I'd even take a guess that the new ones he's talking about (Freaky Teeth, Come On It's Alright) are much better than the crap Andy and Gem are contributing.

No offense, but if they put STC and RM on, you'd still bitch about something. Andy and Gem's contributions are fine. It's Liam's that hold them back. Yea, IOT is decent but the other two are really mediocre. Noel even said he wanted to put Come On, It's Alright on the album but Liam got upset and he had to put his song on there. And I'm going to assume the shitty song we got stuck with was AGN. And to all the people who want STC and RM on, it wouldn't even fit the mood of the album. With a little different production of STC, I could see that one having a chance. But not RM. They would stick out like sore thumbs.

No. You must not be a fan of Oasis. They've been doing this their whole career.

I can't listen, I get a headache. The same thing happens when I listen to DBTT... Liam's songs can stay as b-sides maybe, or if they're really good (IOT, BWTB) they may go on the album...

Comparing anything Oasis does now to their first three albums is unfair. As uneven as BHN is, it's still amazing in spots. They aren't the same band and I've kinda realized that now. Noel doesn't write all the songs, the production is very different, they're older...

i think dig out your soul is a great album til track 8 (i love to be where there is life, cant understando how a lot of people complain of it, cos i think its fuckn great).
noel said in an interview that you cant write as if you were 24 when you are 40...and i agree with him....his tunes are more reflective now...but still great! the first three tracks of the album are amazin...and i believe his lyrics are better now, like falling down and the turning...
and i think liam gets better and better...outta time is great, i think soldier on is a good one... but still cant understand why boy with the blues didnt get in the track list..

Oasis are still the best fuckin band & still make the best albums & look at any other band & look at all there single releases, just look at the list of cd singles oasis have released, you won't em. There will always be a track that few fans might not be too keen on but their worst tracks are better than most bands best tracks.the new album is there best album imo by far.

DBTT appears dull to a few people because of the stripped back sound - but that was intended. I don't find DBTT dull at all, only if I compare it to DOYS, though.
And let's be honest, DOYS is FAR from dull.....what the fuck are you on? The Turning is the best Oasis song done in years, TSOTL, BIU, and WFTR are all just as vibrant and energetic too. Falling Down, while a negative song, is produced well and has a great wall of sound, and TNOR redeems itself with good lyrics and a fantastic guitar segment. The only dull song on the album is Soldier On, the rest of it is bloody brilliant.
Now kindly fuck off.

Funny, I have enjoyed the last three releases. Music is a very subjective thing my friends.
