OK i know it sounds like I'm just getting carried away but I have every oasis album. I was there at the very start, before DM was released.
I loved DM and MG
BHN was Ok but they were going downhill. When I heard it first on Steve Lamacq for me it sounded like Status Quo and I knew it was a dud.
SOTSOG-grim and the sound of Noel holding it together against teh odds (so pretty miserable) HC- Not bad some nice songs but missing the X factor DBTT - better but never really clicked with me
But with DOYS Iv'e had the CD since last Saturday and palyed it probably 30 times and I still love it.
It is one of those rare albums when even the songs you thought were filler suddenly reveal themselves as also brilliant. For me I love all the tracks, they all offer something.
I haven't ENJOYED an album like this (wait for it) EVER. I love it.
MG is OK but has too much weak filler (you know the ones I mean) and DM is great but it also has a little filler and isn't as varied.
I know you are going to Bag Me Up (ho ho) but the way I'm feeling right now I think DOYS could be my favourite oasis album and album of all time.
I kept selecting different countries for itunes (I tried the US, Australia, Italy, France and Germany them stopped ) and DOYS is either No 2 , 3, or 4.
Iv'e never known an oasis album go as ballistic as this throughout the world.
Billboard magazine feature it as their "Hot" album.
This is what wev'e been waiting for -the second coming of oasis. At the moment oasis are the hottest band on the planet with rave reviews. It's fantastic and I am glad I kept the faith these ten years.
To all those who say I don't care if anyone else likes them, oasis are at their best filling stadiums, not small arenas or theatres.
They are BIG BIG group and their music is best heard with a 100 000 others.
Hopefully some big shows coming up throughout the world, not just in the UK.

Surprised as you were there around the DM and WTSMG days you dont have those at the top though, i dont think anything can beat those. When DM came out it blew me away, totally got into them there and have done ever since. Then WTSMG came out and it was a great soundtrack to my uni years round then and just hearing a note/line from that album takes me back.
Be Here Now wasnt too bad, just didnt live up to the hype though but a fair few good uns on it. I actually like SOTSOG quite a lot as it cut away a lot of the fairweather fans i thought and to me it was a good album for the hardcore.
On HC theres a few classics but the rest really are very poor (She is love ? Flipping terrible). DBTT was a great return to form and classic Oasis but Dig out your soul is my 3rd favourite now, not just because its new and i'm desperate for new Oasis songs to hear, love the sound of it, sounds very fresh from Oasis and i'm a huge fan of 9 out of the 11 songs (Aint got nothing i still dont like and get off your high horse sounds a novelty silly song).
I'm happy as anything theyve released a superb album and its one i'm going to be playing for years. Despite that i'm gutted that it wont be 3 or 4 years till another album comes out sadly.

I totally agree except I like every song on DOYS. It's a very solid album and my 3rd favorite also! I guess I could call it my favorite at the moment because it's fresh and new. I think the production on it is the best for sure, but there isn't any song on DOYS that can compete with the likes of Live Forever, Slide Away, The Masterplan, Champagne Supernova, etc from the first 2 albums and thats why they are untouchable! In saying that I think DOYS is their most solid album throughout. I am very happy with it.

I've got an unusual favourite album order but DOYS is my second favourite - I hope its got lasts the test of time
1. Be here now - over the top and loud - under rated - a confiedent album full of great tracks 2. Dig Out your soul - After TBWTL it goes slightly down hill but up until that point it was better than be here now 3. WTSMG - Slightly overplayed now but the tracks still sound great 4. Defo maybe - The great songs are great but in my opinion theres also skippers for me on there - Up in the sky, Digsys Dinner and I've never been fond of Bring it on down 5. Heathen Chemistry - The singles are great. The other tracks are ok - but not fantastic 6. DBTT - Great on first listen but bored of it now 7. SOTSOG - Go let it out, gas panic and roll it over are great but the rest are pretty poor - better that most other bands best ofs though

Yes OK it may be the new album distortion effect but I really love this album.
MG for me was to be part of the whole vibe in the UK at the time. Yes wonderwall, DLBIA, SMS etc are classics but for me it is a flawed classic as it has too much filler I instantly skip (She's Electric for one). I was never a CSN fan though.
DM is mind blowing and yes it is my favourite but it is one pounding song after another, there is no let up. Its brilliant but DOYS gives you a break with the mellower stuff.
I have no listened to a album this much (3-4 times a day) and I'm still not tired of it or want to give it a break.
Right now it is my favourite oasis album. It may drop to 2 or 2nd equal behind DM.
Just one other thing the themes on the album and the lyrics really resonate with what's going on. Eg the Turning, Falling Down and To Be Wheres Theres Life.

DOYS is my favourite Oasis album at the moment. Definitley the best sound they have ever created. Lots of colour and different arrangements. It's brilliant in parts.
At the end of the day i would say it will be my 3rd favourite Oasis album.
Definitley Maybe and Morning Glory being my 1 & 2 favourites

I'm a huge fan of Hey Now. Mostly because you so often hear the famous songs on TV, the radio, you've played them tons, over time i appreciate songs such as Hello and Hey Now much more. Granted one reason is because i dont play them as much previously but theyre still great songs.
I found DBTT very good and a good return to form but very 'Oasis' sounding whereas DOYS seems to breath new life into them and their sound.
SOTSOG i still like though, i can see a liar has some terrible lyrics but i love the sound behind it. Find Sunday morning call and roll it over two underated songs which are very good. Gas panic is great but played that to death. It like Champagne Supernova, amazing song but played that so much now i prefer to listen to the other songs on the album such as Hey Now etc
