can oasis debut #1 in america? they are top 10 on all music selling sites at the moment.. really the only consistent top 10'er on all sites. each site has a diff top 10 but includes oasis..

That sounds very encouraging. When does the US Album Chart get released. Over here in Britain it gets released every Sunday.

i told you guys, Oasis could have very had the #1 album on the iTunes chart, if there had only been 1 Album version. Still, combine the numbers(in terms of sales) from both and guess what? Oasis is actually outselling every other band/artist in the states right now(at least on iTunes).

i think it will count as 1 for billboard though.. in terms of raw album sales. its just 2 products on itunes thats why its rated like that.

Hmm. I highly doubt it will make the top 5 of the billboard charts, but it all depends on whats out there and whats being released this week. If its top ten even that'd be a huge success.

If its top ten even that'd be a huge success. you misunderstood, what he meant was when Billboard takes a look at what sold the most(via iTunes) Oasis will be that band. Now, that doesn't mean it will be #1 on the billboard charts. hope i cleared it up.

it's good...but lets see how it does in the general chart. Its expected to shift 55k-60k in america this week...which will put it easily inside the top10..top5 is possible but looks like they might miss it.

I initially didn't think they'd hit top 5 but the continued itunes success bodes very well for a top 5, itunes sells more music than anyone else in the United States. They're also doing a fair bit of promotion. The other stuff in the top 10 has sort of just been hanging around so has a chance to drop out, and it was hardly a strong week for new releases. It would be amazing to hit a top 5 with little airplay, and no real hit single.

if Kings Of Leon can go in at #5, so can Oasis.

Back in the DBTT days there was a site where one could follow the count before the official billboard chart came out, is that still around?

This is great news, I love to see commercial success for Oasis.
I didn't buy it on Itunes, so I'm wondering when a larger board gets released that reflects Itunes in addition to Amazon and retail stuff.

It technically has only been out for 2 days. If people see it selling at #1 on iTunes then they will be curious as to what it is. This will bring in new fans. Lets hope it hits number 1 and bring back the hype that came with their heydays of the 90's.

it wont be #1 in america already early sales indicate that... a top5 is great for oasis...and if they keep the promo up and promote i'm outta time in the us we might see this album having a longer stay in the top200, rather than just 6-7weeks like oasis's last 3albums have spent.
