I love how you have perfectly good grammar, yet still spell "your" as "ur". Is it really that hard to stick two more letters on?

I don't give a rats arse about you grammer/caps lock/spelling etc, so here goes.....
I've been holding off listening to any leaks, etc for this day, and man am I happy today's finally here!! I did have a sneaky listen to all the 40 sec clips once, but reserved judgement (as they were only 40 secs!). Also been trying not to get influenced by anybodys opinions before I listened to it myself.....
Basically, I've had 1 listen and I F-inf love it!!! It flows really well, and its so bleeding heavy! Some of the bass is really intense. I can't really pick any highlights yet cos I've only heard it once properly, but BIU was a cracking opener, and I really liked NOR, so different to anything they've done before, and that guitar is awesome - it really got my feet stomping!!
Oh - and I really like AGN...even though I was trying not to get influenced by other peoples thoughts, I've obviously picked up over the last few weeks that maybe it wasn't everyones cup of tea...but I think its cool! Drums are wicked on it, and although yeah, it could be MOS part 2, its miles better (and I liked MOS).
- Just had a second listen to IOT - I love it. First listen I thought it was good, but had been so hyped I was expecting something different. But just listened again, and its one of my faves. Shame the Lennon audio bit isn't a bit clearer...maybe played right at the end...still, its great!!

Yeah, just got the album and listened to it in full. I thought it was rocking, lots of force - first few tracks really hit you. AGN fits in quite well, and I love the riff in Nature of Reality (dunno about the melody yet though). A bit disappointed with Soldier On though: bit of an anticlimax. Not many albums get me on first listen, but I think this did.
However! Bear in mind this is after one listen.

If you're like me Soldier On will really grown on you. After my first listen I was waiting for it to go somewhere, and it never really does. But after listening to it a few times I realized that it's not supposed to "go" anywhere, which I think makes it a perfect closer for the album that has such a huge sound to it.

^ I agree with you fully. I think it's much better than the album version, it's more intimate to me, I can see this being given the acoustic treatment in the near future.

I think its amazing, I love the dirty guitars, the bass, the lyrics....everything, I feel like our Oasis has grown all up on us Right now my fave song is I'm Outta Time ( balled like a baby when I first heard it) I love bag it up waiting for the rapture, To be where there's life, solider on.... this album gives me an feeling of finding out all you believe wasn't true, or that everything is changing and you just have to "dig out your soul" lol and just keep going. if that makes any sense at all...

I finally received the box set last night so I listened to the album a few times then and this morning...There's not much for to say that hasn't already been posted on this forum...but Noel is right, this album is "colossal" indeed. My current track by track ratings:
Bag It Up 9/10 The Turning 9/10 Waiting For The Rapture 7/10 The Shock Of The Lightning 8/10 I'm Outta Time 8/10 (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady 9/10 Falling Down 8/10 To Be Where There's Life 7/10 Ain't Got Nothin' 8/10 The Nature Of Reality 9/10 Soldier On 6/10
I think most reviews i've read have underscored "The Nature of Reality." With exception to "Turn Up The Sun," I generally do not like Andy's contributions. But this song is dirty, sweaty Rock and roll. A very nice groove. Cheers.

I was a hold out-er too. Not even the preview clips. On first i was let down, completely. It's two days later and i'm on the third listen and every song blows me away. Yes, that includes Ain't got Nothin. 10/10 alright.

Indeed, i didn't really like DBTT, apart from TIOBI and POFQand maybe 1 other, so i didn't expect anything that much TBH......
BUT, MY GOD - THIS ALBUM IS FOOKING AMAZING IMO!!

I'm extremely conflicted.... I loved it at the start of the album - really neat modal shifting and drum patterns that just blew my mind. I definitely see why Noel was going on about it not being songy and how it's "groove-based" or whatever.
That being said, my favourite song is the lead single, standing in stark contrast to DBTT. The first 5 songs are amazing, and the rest of the album (save To Be Where There's Life) is mediocre in my opinion

I'm really confused about Falling Down. I mean, honestly, it's just overproduced. I mean it's such a wall of sound that it's annoying.
I like the direction that Oasis have gone with this album, but I'm going to come out and say that it's hit and miss
Bag It Up 10/10 The Turning 9/10 Waiting For The Rapture 9/10 The Shock Of The Lightning 10/10 I'm Outta Time 10/10 (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady 6/10 Falling Down 6/10 To Be Where There's Life 10/10 Ain't Got Nothin' 8/10 The Nature Of Reality 5/10 Soldier On 5/10
I don't mean to be bleak, but I think that they were really inconsistent. Noel has 4 AMAZING songs, and 2 that just don't cut it. Liam is 1 for 3, which is sad because he was 3 for 3 the last two albums. Andy's is terrible, but Gem's is really interesting.
The one thing I would also like to highlight is the overproduction and RAWNESS that are so BHN. In a way it's really cool, but it's just overdone.. I'm referring to drawn out endings, feedback, and being mulitlayered to the max. Instead of Noel's guitars being overdubbed and overdubbed it's all the mellotron and electronics that are making it sound way too full.

I am actually really impressed with the album. It's definitely different than your 'typical' Oasis but it's well produced and the songs are good. Some of the songs didn't really get my attention at first but after the second or third listen I thought, 'How the fuck didn't I like this song before?!'
For some side-notes, I just wanted to point a few things out. IOT is indeed a good song, but I think people are overrating it. But that usually happens when Liam writes a decent and/or good song. But it's definitely nothing to be ashamed of. However, it does seem incomplete. But what else is new?
I quite like GOYHHL . I thought it was going to be a lot more different because people said it was 'weird' and what not. But I think it's cool. It has a nice groove and I like the production. This is one of the songs that immediately hit me.
As far as TNOR is concerned, I didn't like it the first couple of listens but it's really growing on me. But I can see how a lot of people don't like it. But the guitar solo in the song is extremely overrated. I can't believe people were getting off to that. When I first heard the solo come in, I didn't even think that's what ya'll were talking about. I thought they had a better one at the end. I'm not saying it's a bad part. I'm just saying that the solo is nowhere near what Oasis use to do on DM or WTSMG?.
Also, AGN and SO are the only two that aren't doing much for me right now. I just think AGN is so mediocre and I'm disappointed it made the album. AGN should have made DBTT instead of TMOS and it would have been a little better though.
I must admit that I've only listened to SO twice and it was better the second time. So I'm going to hold judgment. However, I still think they should have picked a better closer for the album. But I'll see if my mind changes . . .
