That's what you get for having one B-Side, and it being a fucking remix, and that we heard it ages ago.

It would help if all the box set version and pre-ordered with ticket downloads had counted to the chart It would have sold more than that lot together, just shows the stupidity of the present chart format And why would they put on bsides when hardly any stores sell cd singles?

Who cares, it's their own fault. Stupid choices and mistakes have withheld Oasis from being the biggest band in the world ever since the BHN era.

To be fair TSOTL is definitely NOT one of the best tracks off the new album, it's just ur bog standard track, but then again it IS 10x better than most of the shite in the singles chart at the moment. Definitely got more faith in Dig Out Your Soul topping the album charts, at least you can buy it just about anywhere, the singles chart is just one big mess and since the majority of stores no longer sell singles it wont do oasis no favours, if I'm being honest I can't see I'm Outta Time doing much better chartwise either, I still love the song tho.

I'm not surprised. IMO TSOTL is a well average track and a bit Oasis by numbers. The Turning should've been the single.
At the end of the day TSOTL has under-appealed to the two main groups Oasis need to buy it in order to get to No. 1:
1) Us, the fans, who have heard it for the last 6 weeks, and who have zero B-side related incentive to buy it, because the only B-side is a fucking remix, and to add insult to injury, a remix the band themselves deliberately leaked even longer ago than the single.
2) Everyone else - the public. TSOTL has been greeted largely with shrugs of indifference. If it had a chorus it might've got somewhere, but it's been embraced like Who Feels Love? was - i.e. hardly at all. TIOBI or Lyla it ain't.
This is the first time an Oasis lead-off single hasn't made No. 1 since DM - and they were just starting out then. Hopefully this will wake Noel the fuck up and he'll make some better decisions with the single releases; like releasing the best tunes on the album (which to be fair he is doing with Falling Down, but that's not exactly radio friendly) and giving the fans some ferking B-sides.

Pissed off with this. On one hand singles seem to be dying a death, Oasis were lazy and didnt put any decent b sides on it but most of all perhaps as many of us have all downloaded this from weeks ago no one bothered to buy it ?
I mean what happened to collections ? Yeah i heard/downloaded this weeks ago but still bought it as , well its Oasis, not some crappy band. Good for the collection i have also (Every single/album) and yeah i downloaded the album a few weeks back but i'll be getting it tomorrow hopefully.
But it looks like some people didnt bother buying it as they had downloaded it which is a shame. Oasis were lazy though by putting on nothing new as a b side though which was poor

The only problem is the release date. The song was first played two fucking months ago and it's only been released now? They should of released it by the end of August. Whoever chose the release date really fucked up.
And the b-side hardly matters. Look at the rest of singles that charted and you'll find most only have remixes or no bsides at all. It's a shame, yeah, but that's whats happening. Singles are dying and giving way to stuff like iTunes so there's no point in putting on bsides.
And, for the record, Lyla sold 75k in it's first week. I wonder how much TSOTL sold?

there is only 1 reason this single isnt goin to be number 1 the fucking release date!!!!!!!! It should have been released 6 weeks ago if it was it would have been num1 without a doubt i mean the fucking album is out a week later why would u buy the single? it hasnt helped without the b-sides cos it probaly stopped a few hardcore fans from buying it to

not sure why people are so surprised...
TSOTL is fucking old news... its been on the radio for almost 1 month so its not like its a brand new Oasis song. Plus people arent gonna buy the single when the album comes out a week later... they're just gonna buy the album instead. (Edit: I see surface21 said the same thing)
i wouldnt get too upset by it. IOT will get no. 1, guarenteed. Falling Down will be a top 3 as well.

THE CHARTS MATTER FOR FUCK ALL NOW. Truly, the beginning of the end was when they ruled that singles had to have 3 tracks instead of four. Then downloads took over and the 3trk single mattered yet even less. Now... well as has been said having only a 2 track single and having your 2nd track be a prior released bside shows that the band and management probably are focusing on the album and tour and the single(s) are not a priority anymore. I do miss when Oasis were a brilliant singles band but why spend the $$$ now. Used to be you might sell half a million of ea. single. Today your lucky to sell 50K yet your costs are for the most part the same. Game over.
This is why I wish the band would just forgo the charts all together and release 4 track EPs again. Put 3 non album tracks on them and no remixes... would be brilliant.
