‘Dig Out Your Soul’ digital formats 24 September 2008 Big Brother Recordings have announced they will be making the new Oasis album, ‘Dig Out Your Soul’, available in two separate formats for download purchasers. In addition to the full-length album, the band will be releasing a simple ten-track mp3 version for £5. This will be available from a variety of online stores and Oasisinet. A spokesperson for the label said, "We want to give the fans more of a choice. If you just want to get the tracks you've heard on the radio and check out a bit more of the band's new music you can for a reasonable price". The full-length version of the album will also be available at all online stores and for fans that buy it on Oasisinet.com it comes with a half hour documentary on the making of the album. This is the first time a new Oasis album has been made available on mp3 from release. Finally, fans who pre-order 'Dig Out Your Soul' from iTunes will also receive a bonus track in the form of the Liam written ‘I Believe In All’ on day of release, as well as ‘Falling Down’ at time of order. store.oasisinet.com/store/page4Digital.asp?suptype=1&t=1&sub_type=6&prod_id=266&col=48

same deal as in the U.S. it said so on the "album notes" on iTunes... so, still you always have the option of only buying the songs you want, not the whole album BUT if you want "i believe in all" you not only have to buy the whole album but you have to PRE ORDER it in order to get it, otherwise you're screwed.

Why not just release all 11 tracks? Seems stupid to drop a great track for no reason.

Yeah, I don't understand this move? It's not like GOYHHL makes or breaks the album. Seems rather pointless to market a 10 track album and a 11 track album, especially when that song in question isn't terribly special.
Personally, I feel there's a back story here....there needs to be some sort of deeper meaning for this move, surely?

I love the new record but this song is the weakest track in my book. I just don’t get it and it completely drags on.

I just don’t get it and it completely drags on. to me it symbols the start of the new sound on the later half of the album which i love. the first 5 tracks are kinda same old oasis, then in comes GOYHHL and its like ok we go, time for the blues album.

In case you guys haven't heard, could be because it's perhaps Noel's greatest theft ever? There's already a thread around here somewhere so Im not going to waste my time spewing it again here. I do love it though.

Yeah it's some 60's band black & white video on here somewhere and it makes all of Noel's other 'lifts' (Cigs & Alc., POTQ etc.) seem slight.
BTW, don't you get the 11 track plus DVD if you buy the old fashioned way? I think I'll always buy the CD/DVD if I can.

I saw it.. not really.. its a standard blues beat.. you can put any lyrics to it and its gonna sound the same.

Could it be due to the fact it is basically a cover version of 'High Heel Sneakers' and Noel doesn't want to get stung for the royalties. Wasn't that the reason Step Out was left off morning glory at the last minute. A neighbour of mine used to work at Creation and has a promo copy of Morning Glory with Step out on it - any ideas what that would be worth?

Rapture is a worse rip-off that Horse. I can see Jerry Lee suing though. He comes from the old school.
The "official" explanation is damn retarded. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Does that promo include Cast No Shadow, or was that put there in place of Step Out? I don't remember for sure, I remember reading an early track by track review, and the writer wrote, so instead we get another slow one, as if it's in place of Step Out.

Yes, it includes Cast No Shadow - Its like the normal album-version + Step Out on it. No song is re-placed.

I think the song sucks to be honest. Glad it was left off.

I think the song sucks to be honest. Glad it was left off. "Step Out" had to be removed from the album at the last minute. The song, sung by Noel, was intended to have been the original track 8 (after "Some Might Say" and before "Cast No Shadow"), but was removed because the chorus was similar to that of Stevie Wonder's 1965 track "Uptight (Everything's Alright)". The track was eventually released as a B-side on Oasis' 1996 single "Don't Look Back in Anger", with an amended song writing credit of "Gallagher/Wonder/Cosby/Moy", and was included on the live album Familiar to Millions. from wiki

It's bound to be sheer copyright issues, since someones heard it now it's leaked.
Or they're just trying to wind up the industry.

GOYHHL is a pretty bluesy song. blues music uses a lot of the same chord progressions. tons of bands could be accused of stealing if you count stuff like that. at least that's what i think i remember from playing guitar when i was like, 14.
