I think this song was getting too much stick because of the demo we heard it May. Noone was excited about this song going into this release. Its actually not that bad, its alot better than the demo. Its not the worst track on the album either IMO. Its got that Liam swagger...something The Who could pull off.
To the people who dont like this song now, Im predicting that it will grow on you over time and wont be one of those songs that you want to skip. I was one of the people who was very un-flattered about AGN being on DOYS, but after giving it enough listens, it really isnt that bad

honestly, i think i prefer the demo
the songs meant to sound raw, like a demo. The album versions a bit too clean imo.

The album version is slightly better - liams vocals are cleaned up. But I agree with the OP, I think we all made up our mind about this song in the Spring. I keep having the temptation to skip it, but when I listen to it, it's not THAT bad....6.5/10 or 7/10 - average filler. It's as good as/better than MOS, and similar in style to that DBTT song, but is much heavier and fuller sound to it, which is good.
The lyrics are pretty stupid though.

Better than expected. The startis pretty average but after a while the song sounds pretty cool. I defenitely prefer it over MoS, ABWR, TUTS and LLAB.

It's fucking crap. Ruins the album for me, I think it's worse than Meaning of Soul too. But I've always kinda liked that tune.

I hate how any of Gem's or Andy's songs instantly get tarred with the "inferior" brush by folks like you over coz they ain't Noel songs. If either of them wrote Part Of The Queue or She Is Love you'd be burning effigies of em! Ain't Got Nothin turned out well.....you gotta remember we were never meant to hear that demo in May for a reason. Granted the song didn't change structurally at all but ain't it funny what a difference spending a million bucks on your record makes! |

it's more consistent than turn up the sun in that it's rock solid from start to finish whereas turn up the sun's intro and outro are great and the middle bit is meh.

When you say rock solid, does that mean there's no dynamic shift? TUTS builds and drops, AGN is the same from start to finish. Sorry mate but that doesn't make a song better. |

I'm another who didnt really like the Demo much, however i was quite impressed with the album version i think the song has definitely improved. Defo one that needs to be whacked up loud!

I like it and it does fit the album....it is however my least favourite although this not a bad thing....its just I love the others more ;D
