Seeing that people are giving other songs these kind of threads, we cant miss this one. Gem gives Oasis his best effort yet with TBWTL. This song is great live but the album version is fantastic! VERY Beatle-esque. Reminds me of something you could hear off Sgt Pepper. Love the sitar, drums and the very Paul McCartney influenced bassline. And its cool that they didnt put any guitars in it, way to step out of the box.
To Be Where There's Life is one of the top 3 best tracks of Dig Out Your Soul in my opinion.
Great job Gem and Oasis for this amazing tune! Its VERY catchy!

i agree its gems best to date, and I did enjoy ABWR quite a bit.
I always considered Gem to be the weakest songwriter in the band, but I enjoy TBWTL quite a bit more than NoR, so my opinion may change...

Funny, I always said A Bell Will Ring sounds so much like it could of been on Revolver and now he writes a song that I say man, that could totally be on Sgt Pepper!
I dont think Gem is the worst songwriter in Oasis, Its Andy for me. And thats not to say Andy is bad, because he isnt, I really enjoyed Turn Up The Sun

^^ what's strange is it isn't a very interesting melody, yet it's hypnotically catchy.

It's a great tune, not sure if I like the live version more or the studio version more. I wish they'd of had the guitars come in right before the "Dig out your soul" bit cos I love the solo at the end of the live version.

I find the melody boring, the song lacks energy and I hate the sitar I thought I'd be a troublemaker ;D

I love the blatant Bealtes influence on it.....You can hear the George Harrison sitar kind of song with a McCartney bass line.... Love when Noel chimes in with his backing vocals

Liams vocals really make the song. Also when Noel kicks in with the harmony it is perfect. I can't get this song out of my head!!!

I like the experimentation of it. Think it's a bit of a dull tune, though. ABWR it ain't.

Does nobody else think the melody sounds like 'son of a gun' by the La's? Its blatant to me but still a good oasis tune though

This song was stuck in my head through the entire Canadian tour. I went to 6 shows an this song really stood out to me in the live set.

No, I think Liam sings it great and Noels harmony is ace To Be Where There's Life has Who Feels Love feel to it... Noels vocal for acoustic Who Feels Love is superb. Thats the angle i'm coming from...
