Ok, The Turning is sooo good it deserves to be no.1 in the singles chart!! If you agree, then download the track when it's out (even if you buy the album!) and get this track to where it deserves!
The song is up there with the nineties classics and I think the world needs to hear it!! Coldplay got an album track to no.1 so Oasis can do it easily! So C'mon......
(Bag It Up is also worthy....but The Turning is more of an anthem!).

The Turning is brilliant, hearing Noel come in with that old school guitar break is fucking great.

It's bizarre that it wasn't chosen as the lead single.

i wonder if it'll even be a single. it should be over falling down, but noel needs one with him singing.

I agree, this has a huge potential as a single, definitely my fave of the album... I'm gonna be furious if it's not in the live setlist

Absolutely... I am baffled that this wasn't the first single, let alone likely not being a single at all... I guess Falling Down is single #3 because Noel needs his obligatory props... but The Turning is just incredible... amazing verse and mind-blowing rocking chorus. Bag It Up played first and I was freaking out about how cool it was, but then The Turning came on and I just shit myself! I'd kill for a Noel-written, Liam sung Oasis record... I swear they could a make a true classic. I saw it on another post but I don't feel like finding it... here's mine in order of quality: I think the first two tracks are among Oasis best 20 songs.
1. The Turning 2. Bag It Up 3. I'm Outta Time 4. The Shock Of The Lightning 5. Falling Down 6. Waiting For The Rapture 7. Get Off Your High Horse (Lady) 8. To Be Where There's Life 9. The Nature Of Reality 10. Soldier On 11. Ain't Got Nothin

I think its a good song, but its not even one of my top 5 favorite songs on the album...
Id rather see Bag It Up, I'm Outta Time, and/or Falling Down as singles

TT sounds like a rocker off BHN. This is the kind of song I was hoping for with the description of TSOTL. How disappointing was that song? This blows it away. And of course it won't be a single, when was the last time Noel picked the right song for anything?

Turning verses is 10/10. Really amazing. Great Piano in the background, great vibe and Liam sounds amazing. The garagerock chorus is a little bit dissapointed though. Qualitydifference compared to the verses. 8/10 for the chorus. Outro and intro is very good.
Total - 9/10

Amazing song. The only silly part is the "ragdoll" line, but who gives a damn, this is a rocking tune....and the guitar solo is ace - BHN anyone?

the piano is top shit. When you hear the shake you ragdoll line sung in the falsetto it makes the song that much better for me. Passionate vocal from Liam too.

Yeah, it's great, the guitar solo reminds me of the ending of It's Good to Be Free. Especially the White Room live performance.

This song is huge. Has something of the creepy vibe of "Gas Panic", something dark, and it's an epic rock tune. Hope Liam can handle it live.

Hope Liam can handle it live. that is the question, i doubt he'll be able to. but i posted a thread a few weeks ago that Edith Bowman from radio 1 bigged up The Turning, my god how right was she, a million miles better than anything Oasis have done for years, this is the big vers, massive chorus and great guitar solo us fans have been crying out for for the last 10 yrs.

It's bizarre that it wasn't chosen as the lead single. AGREED. It pisses all over TSOTL from a great height.

i wonder if it'll even be a single. it should be over falling down, but noel needs one with him singing. Should be Waiting for the Rapture over Falling Down if they need a Noel-sung song. The singles should be 1. Shock of the Lightning 2. The Turning 3. Waiting For The Rapture 4. I'm Outta Time (5) Bag it Up
