that this is oasis' best album. as a whole, i think it surpasses even DM. it has the same theme throughout and it is the culmination of every one of my favorite bands.
i love SOTSOG, which i listen to most, but i realize its not their best effort. DBTT has some good tracks, but the latter half of the album is just boring. HC is their worst, BHN has a couple of outstanding tracks, but the rest is filler. MG is a commercial masterpiece, but i don't play the full album very often.
that leads me to DM... whereas it has more stand-out singles, it does have a few tunes that i skip on occasion. (shakermaker, UITS, DD) the worst song on DOYS is TSOTL and that is the only tune i've skipped in my prob 10+ listens.
this couldn't have been more perfect for my musical tastes. it's as if they came into my head and took wrote the only thing they could've done to blow my mind. the grooves, beats, guitar are ourageous and liam's vox are in top form.
enough ranting. i'm just so excited and can't stop listening to it. LIVE FOREVER, OASIS!!!!
*disclaimer* these statements are my opinion and based solely on my musical preferences at the moment.

Don't be so hesitant to say you prefer DOYS to DM...it's an opinion. Everyone should have one.

wow... i figured i would be heavily slated. nonetheless like l41n said, it's just my opinion. but i am glad to see that majority of people on this board and inet received DOYS warmly. i wasn't sure the drastic change from DBTT (which most people thought was a return to form) would go over well.?.?

Haha yeah, after a "return to form" the band changes their sound... again

DOYS keeps getting better and better. Normally after spinning an album a few times, i begin to listen to it by bits and pieces. Not with DOYS. As a whole is up there with Oasis's greatests efforts. (DM BHN WTSMG)
Does anyone else agree that it would be nearly impossible to compare it to DM? The styles are so different. It's like comparing Peanut Butter to Mustard.
(I'm soooo digging this album!!!)

DOYS is amazing. It's their most complete album. Liam, Gem and Andy have really improved as songwriters. Liams voice is the best it has been since SOTSOG. It's my third favorite album after the two special ones.

I am completely blown away....it just grows and grows...I can spend all day listening the tracks that some say are weaker like NOR and AGN...and love them....but then you put something like BIU or and its beyond goosebumps As a whole this is an album and not just some songs put together and the production kicks ass ...and I think TSOTL is awesome...that drum solo kicks off ;D

(DM BHN WTSMG) I agree, after many spins it still gets better and better as an album. Looking at it as a whole, I actually think it's better than MG (though I wouldn't go as far as saying that it's better than DM).
