I find it completely unfair to judge anything against DM. There's a mystique around that album that seems to make it almost immune to criticism. Even the weakers songs have had years to endear themselves to us. It's going to be a while before we can really compare them all.
DM's never been my favorite because of the production and lack of varied instrumentation. I think 1-11 the songs are stronger than any other album, but the recorded versions are only so-so. I've always preferred the sound of SOTSOG so DOYS is great to me.

Exchange one of the last three tracks here for one of the better tracks on DBTT and this is the best Oasis album in my opinion. Oasis almost broke the glass ceiling they created.

I love every album Oasis has ever put out - period.
I dont see why hardcore fans have to keep comparing new stuff to the early days - if you are actually listening this is a dramatically different band - and they have improved with age in my opinion. That is why I am here still listening and always looking forward to the new stuff. Sure I love the old stuff as much as any fan, but when I am listening to Oasis now it is primarily the new stuff. I still play the older albums a few times per year when I am in the mood - but my taste has matured along with the band.

this so-called fans don't like the best oasis album to date ( it's DOYS, by the way..) because they just want to hear the same old same old from them, they don't even give extra points to the band for actually Doing something different. To me, oasis fans not liking DOYS are like Beatles fans not liking Revolver, oasis has been around for many years, and you still want to "live forever"? well...no hope for the turning indeed.

The albums brilliant, a few people seem quick to judge after just one listen !
Granted if they put on one more song (Eg STC or Record machine) it would have made a great album even better.
Bands evolve, Liam/Noel cant write what its like to be on the dole or be skint etc like they did back in 1994 when all these years later theyre minted. Bands change over time, so should fans. Oasis cant win, if they make an 'old skool' Oasis song people moan at them for not changing and being the same, do something slightly different and some people arent happy !
Crazy ! Its a great album (Apart from get off your high horse !)
