No shlock? Yeah, right, DD is a fuckin' anthem You really wanna compare DD to TNOR??? Ask 100 Oasis fans and 99% of them will listen to DD any day of the week and twice on Sunday over TNOR. And I'm talking *real* Oasis fans, not the kool-aid drinkers who love listening to Liam's farts. Yes I do. DD is utter shit, just like AGN. DD was made just for kicks. It has the word LASAGNA ( ) on it, for fuck's sake! TNOR is ok, has a nice solo. And quit acting as if you were a bigger fan than any of us here. That's even more annoying than your topics on the forum.

DD also has "these could be the best days of our lives", which is one of my favorite moments in DM.

If you hate both songs, it's easy to choose the shortest one. If you asked any normal Oasis fan, they'll probably say both are shit. We are the few, the proud; the crazy ones that would actually stand up for Digsy's Dinner. "THEEEESE could be the BEEST DAAAAYS of our LIIII-IIIVES!!!" That line alone justifies DD.

DD is like a Michelangelo doodle in his sketchpad. You know it's not his best work, or even work he would necessarily consider to be good, but you also know that even though its just a doodle in a sketchpad, it's still composed by somebody who is brilliant and at the very top of their game. You can still find elements of brilliance in it. TNOR is like some carnival sketch artist trying his very hardest to create great art that just ends up looking like low-quality total crap. I'll take a so-so da Vinci and Michelangelo over the best painting Gus the canival sketch artist created anyday.

And, in the end, it doesn't matter because no one else will give a damn but the craziest of fans. Both are great tunes, end of.

DOYS is a great album, their 4th best for me
I dont think DOYS would surpass DM even if Noel songs replaced Gems and Bells. DM has the standout tracks that will last forever

It's as if Noel was writing a Pulitzer Prize winning novel and all of a sudden, halfway through, his kid brother and his 2 goofball buddies barge into the room, steal the book Noel is writing, and finish writing the novel for him. What was destined to be a Pulitzer Prize winner is reduced to a good novel with a nonsensical ending and a bunch of spelling errors in the second half... relegated to the bargain bins at Wal-Mart. 100% agree with Robohump - second half of the album is pants - they totally lost an opportunity to make a classic here as the first half is solid. DOYS is nowhere near BHN in terms of overalll quality - heck I'd say even DBTT is better because the songs Lieam, Andy and Gem contributed to it certainly were better than the crap on DOYS and yes that includes I'm Outta Time aka Little James #2. Put it this way only 5 tracks from this album will be going onto my iPod the rest will be also rans.

So? Instead of being a 10/10 album, it's an 8 or an 8.5 album.....something I'm personally VERY happy with, and that's all that matters. Critics will like it too - as we've already seen with a few reviews - album of the year, no doubt. Cements the belief in naysayers minds that Oasis are indeed back and DBTT wasn't a fluke, and build EVEN MORE momentum towards their 8th album release (most likely around 2011) Ok, 3 poor songs or so, not the end of the world at all since the rest of the album is MEGA. Homohump, stop making it seem like this album is as bad/worse than HC. Stop making it seem like its a bad album. 3 songs may MAKE an album, but they sure as hell don't break an album. Mate, shut the fuck up. Your points would be more credible if you stopped insulting Robohump like a fucking child. I don't agree with his opinions either, but I respect them, just as I do yours. Now stop carrying on like your opinion is the only one that matters.

PS - I signed up to be an Oasis fan on the basis that Noel G writes the songs and Liam G sings them - with that in mind could I please advise Liam, Andy and Gem to KNOW YOUR DAMN ROLE and get back to singing, playing bass and rhythm guitar respectively - your songwriting 'skill's are no longer required.

I'll accept Liam writing 1 or 2 songs an album. But you're right, Andy and Gem can fuck right off and ruin another band's albums with their shit stained songs.

A few of the songs I admit are a bit...dry.
But then I think? I thought that originally about DM and MG...and then I listened to them a bit more and realised they were a work of art.
And again, I thought that about Coldplays new album Viva La Vida, then I realised that is a masterpiece and its genious. At first I thought the songs were catchy...and now listening back to them at different times I realise Dig Out Your Soul is fantastic, sure one or two are different but hey, DM was 90's, and to think they can remake an album exactly like DM in the new millenium I think is a bit naive, this is I think a new generation of DM. Don't be so hard on it it's fairly good IMO.

Robohump is right, appeasing gem and bell seems to take precedent over creating a mega album.
up to track 7 is genius and then the album dwindles away...They still have it,and hopefully the b-sides will be class
But hey a 7:4 ratio for brilliant songs to clunkers is amazing for any band.

I agree. Definitely Maybe had Shakermaker, Up In The Sky & Digsey's Dinner which makes it 8:3. No-one's ever gonna get 11 out of 11 tracks right.
