... if it weren't for 'Ain't Got Nothin'' and Andy and Gem's songs.
This album was 3 songs away from true greatness. Yeah, 'Soldier On' isn't a terrific closer, but neither was 'Married With Children'.
Even if it took another year, Noel should have waited until he had written 3 more great songs to include on this album. Could have been magic, instead of another ho-hum disc.

Get out of hear Robohump, This album is amazing. Better than BHN, weve been waiting for Oasis to put out an album better than BHN for over 10 years and now that time has come. Dont bring it down

I'm actually close to agreeing with Queerhump here. I do like TBWTIL though, so fuck his opinion there. And AGN isnt as bad as the demo. And while TNOR is poor, the guitar solo is ace. So it's not all bad at the end. But include RM and STC instead, hell even WPTWOTWOMS as the closer, and you do indeed have an even better album But breaking the top 3 stranglehold of DM-WTS-BHN is no easy feat, and the fact that this album has edged out BHN speaks volumes. Amazing album! Gets better with every listen. The Turning - holy fuck, so good. So yes, a few track changes could have made this album even better, but I'm not complaining. You ge tthe songs your dealt, and Oasis have played a damn strong hand this time round. Credit to them. DM-WTSMG-DOYS-BHN-DBTT-SOTSOG-HC That's my ranking, and just look at those albums now.....the first 5 are all pretty damn good, and the last two, while weak - especially HC - have their moments. Oasis have cemented their place in rock history with DOYS.....althought they already accomplished that by 1995 really lol. Fucking amazing band.

i don't get all the negative shit coming along with this album, it's so musically brilliant i can't believe it. it surprises me that oasis fans aren't pleased with it. it's genius.

C'mon Man, it is a very good album!!!! AGN is a merely ok song (I would have let it out) and Soldier On is nothing extraordinary, but the rest of DOYS is great! Just quit the grumpy attitude and enjoy it.
Oh, and by the way, TBWTL and FD are VERY good and are on the 2nd half...

There isnt much negativity. Most people love this album. General consensus is that it's slightly better/as good as BHN.....and that's a damn good thing. For me, it just edges out BHN. DOYS-BHN-DBTT are almost all of the same quality. DBTT is more mature, more focused than BHN, but not as fun. DOYS has much better sound than DBTT and is similar to BHN, but is more condescended than their 1997 effort, so it gets the edge for me. Great album. How the fuck can you complain when you have gems like Bag It Up, The Turning, Waiting for the Rapture, The Shock of the Lighting, I'm Outta Time, Falling Down, and To Be Where There's Life..... That's a DAMN STRONG album right there.

yeah, 3 songs dropped an album from one of the greatest ever to "ho-hum". 3 songs is more than 25% of the album. Take 'Don't Look Back In Anger', 'Some Might Say' and 'Champagne Supernova' off Morning Glory and you no longer have a classic.

And if we're gonna start talking about modifying Oasis albuns, every single one of them could be better (OK, I'm gonna get some cursing over this statement, but that's fine). Very few of us would miss DD from DM, HN from WTSMG, IHITIK from BHN, PYMWYMI from SOTSOG, LJ from HC, TMOS from DBTT, just to give some examples.

Again, let me reiterate, you're an idiot.

If I was to remove the 3 songs I like the least from every Oasis album, What's The Story Morning Glory would be the only one who would lose something too significant...

All of your examples are either already certefied classics or nowhere close to classics. DOYS is the only album since BHN that had greatness within reach.

You're arguing that Definitely Maybe without 'Live Forever', 'Supersonic', and 'Slide Away' is just as good an album? Yeah, right.

Fucking simpleton. No, you (once again) idiot. My point was that you could remove the 3 worst songs from WTSMG, and it would still be a classic...... DOYS has 8 good to excellent songs, 2 average songs (AGN, SO), and 1 Poor song (TNOR).....but even those 3 weaker songs aren't horrible....and all Oasis albums have their weak tracks.....8 out of 11 strong tracks, how the fuck can you possibly complain? Go play in traffic

Robohump, I'm just saying that I get your point, but if you could let it go I think you would be able to enjoy even more the magical time that is the leaking of a brand new Oasis album. And maybe, over time, you may come to enjoy the 2nd half as well. Ok, maybe not AGN...

It's as if Noel was writing a Pulitzer Prize winning novel and all of a sudden, halfway through, his kid brother and his 2 goofball buddies barge into the room, steal the book Noel is writing, and finish writing the novel for him.
What was destined to be a Pulitzer Prize winner is reduced to a good novel with a nonsensical ending and a bunch of spelling errors in the second half... relegated to the bargain bins at Wal-Mart.

Ask 100 Oasis fans and 99% of them will listen to DD any day of the week and twice on Sunday over TNOR. And I'm talking *real* Oasis fans, not the kool-aid drinkers who love listening to Liam's farts.

So? Instead of being a 10/10 album, it's an 8 or an 8.5 album.....something I'm personally VERY happy with, and that's all that matters. Critics will like it too - as we've already seen with a few reviews - album of the year, no doubt. Cements the belief in naysayers minds that Oasis are indeed back and DBTT wasn't a fluke, and build EVEN MORE momentum towards their 8th album release (most likely around 2011) Ok, 3 poor songs or so, not the end of the world at all since the rest of the album is MEGA. Homohump, stop making it seem like this album is as bad/worse than HC. Stop making it seem like its a bad album. 3 songs may MAKE an album, but they sure as hell don't break an album.

If you hate both songs, it's easy to choose the shortest one. If you asked any normal Oasis fan, they'll probably say both are shit. We are the few, the proud; the crazy ones that would actually stand up for Digsy's Dinner.
