Can I just ask, are there any tracks that are "epic" in the sense of the huge sound of SOTSOG's Roll It Over?

No. Nothing epic in that kinda way.
No 'reaching-the-sky' kinda songs.

ok, so now i'm even more excited about the album for years i've been praying not to hear those typical phrases anymore: "it's no DM" or "it's no MG"
thanks, Dutch!!

I know it's your opinion, but FD 7/10 and the 3 weakest track on the album? I love FD, it's my favourite new song so far, and if it's one of the weaker tracks this is going to be HUGE!

I'm a big fan of Falling Down, I disagree with Dutch that TSOTL is a better song. Nonetheless, I'm like what I'm hearing about DOYS, and I'm looking forward to October 6th.

I'd probably give Falling down 8 and The Shock 7,5, from what I've heard of To Be Where There Is life and Ain't Got Nothing I'd agree with those. I'm expecting a lot after these last few reviews, both official reviews and fan reviews and I hope my expectations are satisfied in probably about 10 days time.

finally, a REAL review from someone who has actually HEARD doys...
ironically, the people saying that this guy is a fake, are the same ones who stuck for lorddon'tnoelmenow awhile back when he posted his FAKE review 'oh, liam sounds AMAZING on get off your high horse lady' haha!!!!
on that note i bet lorddon'tnoelmenow is wanking off in his underwear to this review

Very cool review from the OP, thanks.
I was a bit skeptical that DOYS deserved to be called a 'masterpiece' when I first saw the thread title, but it does seem given the audio clips the band are on top songwriting form throughout here.
Outta Time shows surprising quality from Liam. In fact the whole LP looks like the band have got their shit together and pulled out the album hardcore fans have known they could make if they leave their comfortable 'Britpoppy' style and push themselves a bit more in playing and production.
It seems like a worthy successor the fascinating experimentation of SOTSOG. Even if it dies commercially like SOTSOG did (by high Oasis standards) I have a feeling this will be a personal favourite of mine.
