Part of the 'religious armageddon' nonsense theme or just idle-ness in writing the words? Oh, it's definitely the second one.

"Fire in the sky" is a pretty common lyric.

Stolen (or just very lazy) lyrics: It's Getting Better Man: It's callin' out beyond the grave/and all the fire in the sky (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady: I hear your soul song singin'/from a fire in the skyI Believe In All: I can see for miles/ I can see you and your crimes /there's a fire in the skyPart of the 'religious armageddon' nonsense theme or just idle-ness in writing the words? In the case of I Believe In All, I reckon it's just because Liam isn't a very good lyricist. He pinches a few general/over-used sayings or phrases in that tune. Like we needed another Oasis song with "catch me/you when I/you fall" in it. The most shocking nick on this album is (GOY)HHL, as far as I'm concerned. The Doors 'Five To One' steal on WFTR is definitely there (after this and the 'Roadhouse Blues' nick for PYMWYMI, don't ever believe Noel when he says he doesn't like the Doors), but that's more of a style of rhythm type deal. With (GOY)HHL, the *exact melody* of the tune is ripped straight off from 'High Heel Sneakers'. Using the word 'High' in the same way just rubs it in.

at least 2 million popular songs have been produced in the last 50 years...good luck putting 3-4 chords together that haven't already been similarly (or identically) arranged at least a few dozen times.

I reckon dave Sardy did the Doors rip off in WFTR and not Noel. The alternative (demo if you will) version has NOTHING to do with the fucking Doors.
