Waiting for the Rapture = The Doors – Five to One
Falling Down (string section) = Portishead – Glory Box
The Nature of Reality = The Beatles = Helter Skelter
I am sure there are more. However, let it be known I have absolutely no problem with “borrowing” ideas, I just thought you all may be interested to see where Oasis is getting their influences from currently. What have I missed?

they played a little 'Dear Prudence'.... Liam ripped off a bunch of Lennon solo stuff. I was impressed actually with Liam he stole some obscure stuff- he usually only takes the most obvious stuff. Most of expanded his record collection.

waiting for the rapture rip is almost a lil too much. No worse than 'Cigarettes and Alcohol' or 'Mucky Fingers' or 'The Hindu Times' or 'Shakermaker'.

that definitely wasn't blackbird at the end of the turning but it does sound familiar.

I'm fine with all of this (someones got to keep this kind of music alive because it's great) but the first few listens of waiting for the rapture make me want to listen to the doors! I love that doors song and the doors just get stuck in my head so much that I can't listen to waiting for the rapture - I'll probably get over this eventually after more listens but at the mo it's mind bending!
The album is great.

This just shows that infact all music leads from other music and it really isn't a problem.....for example I spent last night investigating Revolver and The white album. ...and can I just say as its on now AGN through headphones loud is immense

I really think The Nature Of Reality has a strong simarlarity to the beginning of I'm Only Sleeping by The Beatles, and at first glance a bit of Helter Skelter like mentioned earlier.

Everyone band borrows these days. It's just that Oasis do it better than everyone else because their songs are better than the ones they've been influenced by.

On TSOTL that driving guitar part after the verses and after the hook are a straight rip off of this strokes riff from The Way It Is. Shocking! It's like the copy/pasted in Audicity and stuck Liams vocals on it!
